I'm all set, threw up some plastic yesterday morning over the weed cage, took about an hour to do. The real work is tying it all down. Had no string, so I grabbed a bunch of "baling twine" from the hay bales my wife feeds her horses. Tied them together and works GREAT! Thinking green!
So the cage is all dressed up and ready to dance.....so to speak.
The carport is already covered and so is the greenhouse.
We had a lot of high winds and a bit of rain yesterday, nothing bad, I would have been fine if left uncovered, but today is another story.....more thunderstorms this afternoon.

I went to my sons football game today in the central valley (they won 14-20, they scored with 20 seconds left) and the wife stayed home (she drew watch dog duty this weekend). She said lots of thunder and lightning and a couple nice down pours. I asked if any damage or issues, she said everything was a-okay! When i got home at 11:30pm, everything looked great!
Good to see my efforts went for not!

yaaaa they made it through the first pounding eh? That's a good thing, glad to hear it. I got lucky so far and didn't get any rain yet,looks like I'm gonna make it through it. Today highs are only gonna be in the mid 80s in the foothills, so it's time to start hittin' em' hard with the teas now.
I was looking at last years pics and had tore up plants on the 18th last year from the early rain.

Hello all-
I received some pollen from another member here on RIU (thanks you!) and pollinated two branches on my Mad Purps yesterday. Then went to my sisters and pollinated a branch on her Master Kush. She has the craziest pheno of the Master Kush, the calaxes turn a deep lavender/purple color, very stoney strain she has.
This is my first attempt at pollination/breeding, how long do I wait now? The Mad purps will be ready for harvest first week of Oct, or do I just let those branches keep going which I think is correct.
Any help is appreciated...

When we arrived at Hodges cabin at 7:00pm that weekend TLD (25 years old) was ready to start cutting wood that evening, I told him that story about the old wise bull and the young bull stud.
The two bulls were standing on a bluff over looking the valley below when a bunch of cows walked into the valley. The young bull looked at the old bull and said...Lets run down their and screw one of them cows. The old wise bull turned to the young bull and said....why don't we just walk down their and screw them all!
My point was made and we smoked another joint.
Had to laugh when you made that reference to walking down to the garden....lol

Around 28 days for seed to become viable, just start watching her after 2 weeks should see if the seed pods are forming.. Congrats on the win. With viagra, you could run down back up to get the contraceptives then back down and still do them all...lol The miracle of modern pharma...

As a young farmer I not only fucking love this, but appreciate it. Good words TMB. I'm gonna go to bed and figure everything out tomorrow before the lights turn on, and approach it from there. I have a slew of problems thrown on me today, got the emergency stuff out of the way.

Well I hope all is well and you get it figured out. As an old man (near 50, old for most on this forum) I've just learned their will be another day tomorrow, and another one after that, and another after that and so on. So what don't get "handled" today will tomorrow, or the next day. And what I fucked up today I can can fix tomorrow. Life is just a shit-load of tests, one after another, it's how we do on these tests that life throws at you that makes you the man (or woman....fumble) you are! If you can handle the pop quizzes life has in store for you, the better grade you get.

Medicated and rambling on, not even sure that make sense.....lol

I'm one hell of a man, I'm so used to getting life thrown in my face I don't even flinch anymore. I have an ulcer that absorbs that blow for me now, hahaha. Oh man, this reminds me of having my sweet candied over creamed coffee from starbucks blow up all over me in the middle of a 15k sale at work the other week. Hot white mocha load in my face and up my snozz all over me front and back. All I could do was laugh it off and ask for his card, drove home, washed up, never made that sale, lol. Whatever.

well i had a couple of boys thank it was time for me to harvest last night i caught them right at the end as soon as i seen it was not the lawdogs i let my rem 870 sang not trying to hit them but to put the fear of god in them and then the race was on i killed my light and stayed right on there ass unloaded agin that was to much for them i guess they both dropped it and was running and yelling out there names i guess they was thanking i was shooting at them so they was asking each other if they was ok well in the end i lost my camera some where a long the way but i did get 2 big ass army backpacks. going back to find my camera ill put up some pics of what they thought was ready

I love my 870 too, sorry ass piece of s__t people out there, glad you made them listen to your singing, (not killing them) maybe that'll change their life but at least they'll change their shorts.

I don't envy you out of state growers at all. How did you know they were there? Is there anything left?
My son shoots trap with an 870, he was using my over and under, but shoots better with the 870, even the doubles with it, he's the only kid out there with a pump action gun on the doubles.
Unfortunately my best defense against rippers is our new (used) car we have. I park it near the travel trailer making it look like some one is staying in there. Then when I go out to work I use that car leaving my everyday car in the driveway. The garden is unprotected 60%-70% of the time right now, hell I could be getting ripped right now and not even know it. My house is about 100 yards away from the garden, but down the hill where I can't see it. Last year I felt like a prisoner here, never going anywhere, but this year, only half as much. Still golfing, working side jobs, going to football games and practices, having fun!
Good luck KYSTONER, how many gardens have you lost now, and how many left?
