OK, so ive been taking this industrial waste water treatment class at my college. I'm almost half way through the semester and ive learnt some information i think is extremely useful. When i first started growing, I went out of my way to fill 5 gallon jugs atleast twice a week, until i realized there is absolutely nothing wrong with using hard water. (as long as ph is adjusted accordingly). When water is processed through a softener or other type of membrane filtering system, all of the calcium and magnesium ions, which cause hard water, but plants love, are simply replaced with sodium ions. Basically your just filtering out all the goodies that cannabis loves, and replacing it with salt, which can cause all kinds of problems and buildups within the plant. I would love for some more people to elaborate on this if possible. In my opinion hard water is more beneficial to cannabis than filtered water. This is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt!! Get it ??Much love RIU!!!
