My outdoor Florida grow journal. 5-25-12, some questions??

I would use neem oil anyway as a preventitive, just treat every couple weeks to prevent any potential problems. I like to do it when I fertilize. Spray Neem oil treatment (mixed properly) over and under leaves (let sit good for an hour) Then spray with ph'd water and let dry a little not completely, and finally fertilize leaves and roots. I let neem treatment sit for an hour then rinse with ph'd water because some will tell you the neem kinda smothers the plant, I personally agree and disagree its really up to u try one both ways and see what works for you. Plants look good, but could use some attention, those bottom sets are gonna yellow off, you may also want to transplant soon. Most important keep an eye on your ph.

Sorry i forgot, lol if your soil drains really good i wouldnt worry with the amount of rain, so long as they dont get beat up by wind too much. I kinda went heavy with perlite once and i swear i couldnt over water my plants. lol Good luck with everything, ill keep my eye out for ya.

thanks man i really need someone like you for this , okay first i really want to use this neem oil but im not sure on this mix ive looked it up and people are saying mix dish soap in it i need to know what kind of dish so so if you or someone can give me an example of a brand it would really help. also i dont have a ph meater or ph up or down so i cant ph my water so i just use bottled water and just the rain i let it do its thing theres noooo shortage and i did transplant all of them i fixed a lot of problems and im about to trans plant them into 20 gallon pots because the roots are exploading and there already coming out of the bottom :) but about spraying with ph'd water would bottled or mby even rain water if i catch some of it work to spray with? i have no way of ph'ing it as of no though

Sorry for the delay my connection sucks, lol I use garden safe neem oil, you can get it from Lowe's. You can mix 2-4 tablespoons per gallon, and mix really well (oil and water seperate), I personally use only 2 tablespoons, and I have used dish soap (dawn original), and I have not. I just dont bother with it anymore, now when I clean my sprayer I use hot water and dawn, just to keep nozzles and such clean from oil. Make sure you spray both top and bottom of leaves, and being in Florida I would assume bug presence is pretty heavy, lol so you may want to use once a week to be safe. Im sure its pretty humid down there too so that will help with fungus and such. I think neem oil should be in anyones garden, whether your growing good, or growing tomatoes and such. As far as rain water goes many people on the site collect and use, Its natural, why not? I think distilled water is pretty spot on as far as ph, but its best to invest in a ph meter. You can get a digital one For $30 give or take a few $ off amazon.com. Fertilizers, and whatever else you may want to use can change your ph whether its rain or bottled water, so its an important tool to have in your arsenal. Good luck man, i'll be back to check you out, if theres anything i can help you with feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help you Im still learning myself, but hey thats life and growing lol

If you're growing bagseeds, it's a good method to keep records on individual plants to track your grow. Most people track them by strain and/or pheno #. I know that you think it's silly, but if it works, who cares? There are some strain names that I think are pretty silly too...
