Hey,

So I am right now designing & building my first pc grow box. Right now its in development as I need to find some parts I need will be building it out throw the next few days - few weeks as some of the parts are impossible to find.

So what I have right now:

-Very Nice Sturdy Case
Height: 17"
Width: 7.5"
Length: 19.5"

Pretty nicely sized case should be able to fit up to 3 plants
-Activated Carbon Filters ( 3 of them got them at a pet store for $6.99 CAD + tax)

-2x1.5"inch thick 120MM 4800RPM fans
From a server computer
These run surprisingly quiet at anything under 1500rpm & push a shit load of air at 500-600rpm
Front fan which will grab air from the outside will be running at approximately 400-750rpm
Back fan which will have a carbon filter attached to it will be running at about 500rpm-1000rpm.
-4xFlorescent Light-bulbs @ 23 Watt (according to the box their equivalent to 130watt incandescent)

-A Power Strip For Light Bulbs (still looking for outlet to light bulb adapter in canada)

-12V Power Adapter

-Cardboard For Insulation (I'll be putting a reflective material over it)

-Pot & Cheap Proper Soil ($2.99 for a bag of scotts cheap but amazing 50L soil @ canadiantire)

-Miracle Grow Plant Food
I think its this: http://www.scotts.com/smg/catalog/productTemplate.jsp?proId=prod70342&itemId=cat50106
Use it on my garden all the time and its pretty f***ing amazing
-I also got some seeds (only planting 2 of them in it, the other one goes outside):
1x White Label - Snow Ryder - Feminized
1x TH Seeds - Mendocino Madness - Regular
1x Nirvana - Northern Lights - Feminized

going to purchase more after I test my indoor growing in the pc box. I might build my own growing box soon (god bless ikeas clearance section for ultra cheap stuff)

What I have ordered already but damn shipping:

-Fan Controller (for 3 fans but for obvious reasons I'm only using two of the controllers)

What I need:

-2xLight Bulb Sockets Outlets ( I need this: http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-Ivory-Socket-Outlet-Adapter/dp/B000VL4CFC but they don't ship to canada & can't buy via ebay)

-2xLight Bulb Socket Splitters ( same reason as above: http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-128-I-Light-Socket-Adapter/dp/B001ATG0JU/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_img_b )

-Some Sort Of Reflective Material

- A Black CD or DVD Rom ( i'm planning to remove the front and glue it to the front of the case in the open slot and making sure no light can go through )

anything else that I forgot to include

So as of June, 20th, 2011 this is how my PC Grow Box looks like:

The front is like impossible for light to go through (i've tested it with my blackberry bold 9700 flash and several 23 watt light bulbs and no light went through except for the opening of course)

will be posting updates frequently upon making a significant upgrade. Hoping to finish this by the end of the month and start growing next month.

Got Lazy To Rotate Pictures & take them on my dslr.

I don't know if I should keep my pointing to the door or to the bottom & if I should make a reflector. Please give input.

How are you planning on mounting your lights? I tried making a grow-box out of my old PC case, but made it too quickly and the lights kept falling (duct tape cant hold everything), and still only have 1 fan. But yeah... whats your plans with the lights? I want to make my PC case my new box

Hot Glue Gun :) a shit load of hot glue should work I once hot glue gunned a 8lb dumbbell to the ceiling when I was in high school good times :D . If it doesn't I guess im going to drill two holes and put two screws (so I can just slide the power bar in place). Just find a cheap fan somewhere around your house or in a old computer for intake. use a big fan for outtake (for obvious reasons).

Update: i am going to be purchasing some C3 anti detection sheets even though I don't think the helicopters will care for a small head coming from the house but just incase you never know

Thrift stores like goodwill or value village, garage sales, craigslist/kijiji, or friends & family.

They should be cheap

The pictures make it look small but in reality is a pretty decent sized boxed and should meet my needs
