My plant has started growing pistils

Approximately how much longer do I have until it starts budding? Im in the American Northeast. The pistils really started becomming noticeable last week. Also, if I wanted to get just a little taste right now, do you think I could smoke some of the leaves? Thanks.

no the leaves have no thc content if the pistoles are jus starting to show. trimmin some leaves would jus be unnecessary shock. you'll know when theres thc being produced when you see crystals. jus give it time patients is the key

Pistils would mean you're already in flower. Trimming a leaf-buzz now is not a good idea. At least wait 'til you can see what's what, so you don't remove anything useful to a better bud harvest.
IF there's some lower growth that's not gonna get much light, you could remove that and smoke it, tho it probably won't provide much of a buzz.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the help. Yeah, the pistils are there, but I cant make out any real bud formation just yet. Do you figure a week or so? And then from that point, I'll wait till the hairs on the bud get a red or brown hue. How many weeks do you figure that will take? The Am. Northeast is getting around 12-14 hrs. right now.

Also, could I cover the plant with a sheet for a couple of hrs. to lower the amount of light its receiving?

dont over think things thats were alot of people go wrong just let go as mother nature intended. as far how long i realy have no idea i grow in side

its ready when its ready. the trichomes (crystals on the bud) will start turning amber whenever its getting ripe but if you wait too long the tch will degrade and thats never good. no if its flowering its doing what it needs to do you dont need to cover it up or anything.

the hairs are just a relative guess as to when they are actually ready. youll start seein bud in a bout a week or maybe 2 depending on how fast your plant develops

Nice, thanks for the help. Just watered it, and yeah, the pistils are growing in a lot of places and you can start seeing where the buds will be coming through. Any other tips to keep it a healthy plant?

As always, only when it needs it, and if you want, you can stop a watering or two before harvest, for a faster dry.
It's strain dependent how long until your budz would actually be ripe. Figure 42 days from the first pistil, IMO, at least.

Couple things..the plant is not very big and there isnt a whole heck of a lot of leaves. Is this weird eventhough its growing pistils? Also, I have some leaves that have been chewed through by bugs. Should I remove these leaves? If I remove them, do I just take the leaf off or do I remove that whole stem?
