I have no experience with that problem, but whats your soil like? Looks really woody from that picture, the makeup could be 'not ideal' for your girl.

"Organic" soil. It doesn't have any nutrients in it but I agree that it is a little bit woody. I was thinking it could be either a drainage issue or nutrient deficiency.

that is a ph lockout. Too acidic.. barky soils tend to be poor choices. Had same prob before myself. Measure the run off if you can, i woud bet its about 3. you need to get a neutral-ish soil.. most good bags will say the ph

and that plant is history.. start again.

How do you know that the soil is too acidic and not to alkaline?

pine bark is put in alot of soils that why u have to pay from good soil they use it and say its organic when pine is treated after its been processed u cant wash away that treatment so it sucked up by ur roots which will deform and give off like nute burn affects

Yea I agree that the soil I bought is terrible. Will be sticking to miracle grow next time. My concern is that it's been almost 2 weeks and it's growing deformed and small.

Yea, I'll be getting new soil ASAP but for the time being I mixed 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda into a quart of water. I only used a little around the root hoping it will atleast stop the damage in the mean time.
