My plants are over a month late!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been growing two auto flower plants since March 7 and they still aren’t fully mature yet. The northern lights auto was supposed to take 50-60 days from sprout and the industrial cbd was supposed to take 60-70 days from sprout. I know plants rarely stick exactly to the breeders schedule but isn’t a 35 days late a bit much?

I had a few problems with heat and humidity that I solved early in the grow. I started the flush too early when milky trichomes first appeared But switched back to nutrients when I realized my mistake. Now the plants are turning yellow and losing their leaves and the tops of the buds have begun to dry out. Bud rot isn’t the issue so I raised my light a bit. Anyone one have any idea how long I might need to wait or if I should just cut them down now? The trichomes are around 60/40 cloudy clear with some amber scattered around. Here’s a picture of some colas and a wide shot of both plants. First and last are the Northern lights and the other is the industrial cbd. Sorry about the yellow lighting. Both plants pretty much look the same up close but the industrial cbd is growing some random new pistols for the first time in weeks

You can't really rely on trichomes alone with auto's. Some auto's never really amber up. I mostly gauge my auto's by pistols and leaves.
Looking at the pistils and leaves they definitely look done! I just worry about the clear trichomes I can still see. Hopefully they will be ready by Sunday!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I've replied to a million "is she ready" posts. Yours is the first one that I haven't said 2-3 more weeks yet ! I'm not positive but I think cbd maybe gets harvested a little earlier then a typical tch strain. Something you might want to look into. Will it be ready by Sunday ? I'm not sure, hard to tell with the lighting and those pics. But I definitely think you'll be within the start of that "harvest window".

Thanks Zogs! I’ve had to be very patient with this grow haha. Even without the lights the plants are pretty yellow other than the buds. There are barely any green leaves left! I’ll definitely check them before the chop on Sunday and see if they need another week but they are getting pretty crispy so it might be better to take them down before they get any worse

Can you post your yield of flower per plant when your done please? I’m growing same strain, just planted yesterday.

After looking at the trichomes yesterday I decided to wait another week for the plants to mature a little bit. The tops of the colas of the northern lights has a geeat mix of amber and cloudy but the rest of the plant is still mostly clear. The industrial cbd is mostly cloudy but no amber so I think it will be ok to hang around for another week. I’ll update the thread once I cut them down!

I'm into growing CBD plants and from all I've read it's best to take them down when they first start going cloudy and mostly clear to get peak CBD.

Not sure it makes a hell of a lot of difference but it would get one plant going and out of the way for trimming the rest.

With THC plants I take them down once they are almost all cloude nad maybe a few amber here and there. Takes another 4 weeks to see even 10% amber so screw that. They can amber up later as they age or put them out in the sun to amber faster.

Amber just means more CBN which is what makes you sleepy and couch-locked.

Nice 1st grow!

:peace:
