My plants are too small?

Hello everyone, my plants are 50 days old, I guess 42 in veg from seed. It is growing pretty fast but why isn't it just big? It has small leaves, small stem ... I'm using 8 Gal pots, I use plagron alga grow every second watering. For lights I use 400W MH and 1 fan for air as tent is open most of the times. So far soo good as health, I used topping at 4th node and then lst and once again topped each new branch, thats all.

Does anybody know whats the issue or thats natural and they might go 3x time in flowering?

I'm no expert but they look pretty sexy to me tbh

They will stretch in flowering quite a bit, are the nodes alternating yet, they should be. I'd say they are ready for flowering now.

How much light are you using?

I use 400W Metal Halide reflector, before I used same but cooltube I'm not exactly sure, I've checked right now and not many are alternating, just few branches maybe Thanks!

I have a question at this, should I rather use 600w HPS or 400w MH now? And should I clip off the very bottom fan leaves which don't get any light at all? Thanks!

I just got my light in a cool tube too, shoulda done that a long time ago.

I veg under a 400 and flower under a 6.

It's just my opinion, however, I say leave all your leaves on... Your plants look healthy, and every time you cut off growth, you will get some growth stalling...[you topped at fourth node...]
If I had option like you, I'd run the 600 hps... If you planted direct into the large 8 gallon pot, to start with, it could be the reason for your shorter plants... Your roots maybe have never reached the outside of pot, so the plant stays shorter, growing a massive root complex.... You'll get some stretch, at least double in height.... Good Luck...

Clip off lower buds as they grow, but if the leaves are still green, that means that they are still producing clorophyl, energy for the plant.

Switch to a 600 HPS for flowering. Some like to keep them under MH for the first 2 weeks.
