Dude... Honestly I've got nothing on aeroponics, but I have pretty much figured out the rockwool shit! Let me give you a break down just in case you wanna try it this way.

Ok first I'll break down how it's set up. I took a small 2 foot tall rectangle table I bought at Wal-mart and threw an even bigger rectangle piece of plywood on top. Over the plywood, I laid a huge towel. On top of the towel I use a black rubber mat. I just cleaned the hell out of the bottom mat that was in my dogs crate. Works perfect cause it has lipped up edges. On top of the towel I lay a heat mat and keep it on low then lay the rubber mat lipped edges down to cover the heat mat. So I have this mat sitting upside down on top of the towel and plywood with a heat mat under it. After that I drop a clear plastic lid to incubate the plants over the black mat. The edges of the plastic rest on the plywood. I can fit up to fifty cuttings in there at once comfortably. Sitting about 3 feet above my cuttings, I have my T5 fluorescent light.

How I take my cuttings... I take a gallon of water and mix in 1 tsp of Super Soak and adjust the ph... Usually the super soak mixed into the water adjusts my ph for me to nearly perfect. I then take all of my mini cubes and throw them into the bucket of water until they are fully submerged. I bring out the old scale and flick the wrist (al b fuct style) to get excess water out. I make sure all my cubes are between 25 & 30 grams and I set them all up on the black mat under the plastic lid.

When I take cuttings, I take them when they have no less than four nodes and cut them close to the bottom set of leafs at a 45 degree angle. After that, I strip off the bottom leafs and take the back side of my razor and gently scrape the bottom inch of the stem to make it vulnerable. I steady my hand then put a small quarter inch slit in the bottom of the stem. Once I've done that I have some rooting hormone sitting in a shot glass and I cover the area that was cut and scrapped with the rooting gel. Once that is done, I lift of the plastic lid and plug my cube. I keep doing that until they are all plugged. My success rate was 14 out of 15 in 11 days... I'm pretty stoked. I have to give em a little water every couple days and I usually give them a light misting once a day with the water bottle.

Anyway man... There's my input for the contest in winning half your harvest! :) On the areo thing you made, do you have anything that keeps your plants incubated and warm? That would be the only thing I could think of, but I know nothing about areoponics. Good luck though... May the Ganja Gods be with you.

my grow room may indeed be to cold for the clones.....on the alb cloning method
i have the thermostatic heat mat and all of the other things....i just failed at it.
as far as the cuttings go....i do it all and still it takes this long. i'll get it figured out.:wall:

well i cant give up so no worries there....just kills me when i see people getting roots in 3-5 days or 7-9 days even....hell i just need em to be ready in 14 friggen days. i'm all bitter about it

Bugs how long are you waiting following cutting before you do the clone goo? If its awhile, next time get a bowl of tepid water and place the cuttings in the water while waiting to put the cloning gel on them and into the rooters. Instead of the heating pad you can also use an aquarium heater in your areocloner. Make sure you cloning gel is not too old or doesnt work although I have seen clones sprout roots without gel in an areocloner. I usually do it Aztros way but use the bowl of water for large batches. No nutes in areo cloner right? Do you use H2O2 in the aerocloner? It may be as you said just the temp in your room.

i put the cuttings in a bowl of ph'd water to 5.8 and it has 1.7ml/l of 35% h202 in it also. as soon as i have all my cuttings from the mums taken i start processing them into the cloner.
i might look into an aquarium heater but i thing the mat is working.
no nutes...correct, and yes on the h2o2.

i believe the temps are keeping it too cold and slowing me way down. who'd a thought cold would be a problem in a tropical climate

for real you figure its too hot a little cold wont hurt

exactly......

well boys and girls, we have roots. i just checked and 8 are out and about and more by the morning. so i think backing off on the water helped. but sadky i wont know for sure until i have a full batch go though...so i'll know in a couple of weeks.

Always good to see roots on the stems. Well maybe with a little heat (~80-85) they will speed up rooting. Maybe its just the strain. Some strains are harder to clone than others.

:eyesmoke:....I was going to ask you about your temps the other day but I hadn't read most of the thread and figured for sure you'd be watching that, with all that you've tried.
I was doing all of my clones in a dwc cloner all winter last year with next to 95% success. I had a aquarium heater and kept it 'warm.' Then spring hit and I was running the air cond in the room and then summer and I was fighting to keep it down under 80..... Well, my clones really started going to hell and I couldn't figure it out. I tried everything! The guy at our hydro shop asked about the temps......and told me to run them right up to, and at, 90! Son of a bitch! :wall:That was my problem 100%--I was probobly running down around 70 and only getting about 5-10 out of 50. This last batch I kept 40 out of 50----they all rooted within 15 days....
I realize areo is different than dwc but the temps I would figure you'd want about the same, seeings how similar the setup is. then you have to figure strain and all too.......... just my 2 cents....

Great luck to you! I love your setup and I hope you get the perpetual going great!!!:weed:

Kick ass, keeping my fingers crossed man.
dont forget to cross your toes too!!!:-P

i think the heat is gonna do it.

you, may have given me the first piece of experienced, not heard evidence. my temps are in the 72-85 range from night to day.
i'm positive it's the temps now....i om going to enclose the cloning chamber so i can regulate the temp a lil better without messing up the temps for everything else. cold=slow....got it
feel free to leave a couplke of pennies lying around any time:leaf::leaf:

I have two 1000W HPS lights sitting above two 4x4 trays all inside of a 5x9 grow tent... I have ventilation running through both hoods with a big squirrel fan pulling air through and up into my ceiling. I put two stationary oscillating fans on each side and have them set on medium speed. I have no plants in the setup yet cause I didn't know what my conditions would be like. Everything has been on for about an hour and I just checked the temp... 93 DEGREES! :wall: What can I do if anything to resolve this problem? Any suggestions will help. My squirrel fan is 630 cfm and pulls air through both hoods in one vent. I do carry ventilation through the tent as well with a computer fan pulling air in on one side and another one on the other side venting the air out. What if instead of using these mini computer fans I used squirrel fans and ducted the hot air with a splitter out the ceiling with the venting from the lights? Would the squirrel fan suck enough air through the tent to cut back my temperatures by roughly 15 degrees? I'm struggling and ready to put a group of plants into flowering, but do not want them to be in 93 degree temperatures. I don't have the money for an A/C unit. Bill's are piling up and between being in grad school and working full time at my uncle same approved job, my life is pretty hectic. I need a way to get this thing going, but have to get the temps controlled somehow. You guys think using squirrel fans could work? I'm open for any suggestions.

Ambient temps for your situation is the important factor. I would have a ducts to each light but if your ambient temp is 93 inside the room, and you are pulling from the room through the light then your vent/fan setup will not help your situation. Im assuming you are running cool lites? Without a lower temp air source it will be difficult to lower the temps. I would, as you have done replaced the computer fans with occillating fans. Is this room in the house? Attic? outside? Is there a source of cooler air 80ish degrees? Can you insulate the room? If you can I would run at night only when ambient air temps are cooler (where do you live?) in most places.

where are you bringing the fresh air from??you can get canfan or sq cage blower to blow the hot air out but whats the temp of the air you bringing in

I was rummaging through craigslist and just got back from picking up a 12,000 btu A/C that works perfectly for 100 bucks. The guy is moving out of state in a few days and needed it gone. Yea I'm tight on money, but I couldn't pass it up especially with my time crunch. As for the post I put up, I'm sorry for anyone's time I wasted. Things always have a way of working themselves out! Thank god. Take care guys.

it sounds like computer fans are way to small for the room you're trying to cool. from what it sounds like, the lights should be pretty cool with all that air. how tall is the room? you should have a fan big enough to circulate all the air in the room within 5 minutes. if the room is 6 feet tall then you should have a fan at least 54cfm
