my rant on cannabis laws in the UK

Me as a grower and smoker I do think that this country has a bad cannabis problem,
There are huge growing operations being found every day and thats just the tip of the ice burg and it is completly unregulated, untaxed and all the profits are going into the pockets of organized crime groups.
I personaly grow a couple of plants for personal use becuase the black market prices are just too high (no pun intended), if the goverment admit they have a huge problem on thier hands then that means that it is worse than we think.
If the goverment want to bring this to a stop then they should do something posative becuase at the moment they are putting more money into these gangs.
If they regulated it in a way that can benefit everyone apart from trying to shut these grow operations down, spending millions of tax payers money on trying to stop something that people want and no matter what people are going to get one way or another.
If we classified cannabis like alchahol or tobacco then we can help stop children getting hold of this drug, it will not stop children getting it completly but it will help and also we could make alot of revenue of this product.

that concludes my rant on cannabis laws in the UK.

many growers and sellers in the uk make alot of money growing and selling, its their bread and butter, they dont want it legalized.
also you cant make cannabis available for medical use unless the pharma companys control everything, because medicine has to be exact, the dosage etc,its very hard to do that with cannabis.
also the goverment still say it has no medicinal qualities.also when cannabis was decriminlized in a part of london as an experiment the goverment called it a failure.
also they did down grade to a class c drug, but then they decided to make it a class b drug again.they wont legalize it or decriminalize it.

UK are some of the biggest dicks when it comes to weed.. on US tele we have documentaries on the oppression of the cannabis movement and how visionary people consider it to be a good time substance..

every british special i see focuses on how there is "skunk" weed which is far more potent, 'hallucinogenic' and sometimes containing beads of broken glass.. then they talk about addiction and show a bunch of raids happening..

we clearly all need a shift toward world peace - i saw a chart showing the peacefulness/warlikeness of each county - and the US is yellow/orange - down there with Ecuador on the peace scale - all because of our internal prison population - as you may well know we are the biggest imprisoner of any country including china, russia, cuba, etc = per capita we imprison far more than anyone else - in fact i think that we have the largest prison population - above India with billions of people? so, if we stopped the 'war on drugs' that we created - it would actually increase peace.

GO URUGUAY GO!!!!

right yall do have some fucked up documentaries but most of the US is just as bad calli is great for weed though but in my state you can do up to 1 year for possesion of any amount of weed if you get caught growing a plant your going to prison even for personal use

weed is an expectorant - meaning it brings up the nasty tars as you cough - cleaning your lungs of the worse tobacco resin in the process.. it will also help you avoid cancer in the long run.. i don't know about emphasema or chronic bronchitis, but i imagine that it is still not as risky as tobacco..

ahhhhhh, the dream.......total and unequivocal legalisation of cannabis( for over 18's, over 21's, over 25's, hell for over 35's i'd still be happy lol)will it ever happen? not the way britain is going. in case nobody has noticed our personal freedoms and our right to make adult decisions are being slowly (maybe not so slowly when you think about it) eroded day by day by the pc brigade, the moral minority and the nanny state we live in. maybe, just maybe, if enough ppl start making enough noise, we might one day come to a "at home-personal use-outa sight outa mind" kinda deal, but i wouldnt hold my breath (apart from everytrhing else it makes inhaling a tad difficult ;) )

we have some US states ready to fully legalize.. i am disappointed that CA is not among them, but in any case, if most of the US legalizes here in the next decade or so - will the UK want to be stuck in the mud with the likes of Louisiana, Kentucky, Kansas? they won't listen to the Dutch, but they listen to the old yanks they will...

I don't think anyone in the UK has pushed hard enough for the government to even attempt to make a change in that section. Rather than doctors and specialists, we need more genuine hard working middle and upper class people actually asking for the change. Since the working/lower classes are ignored because they are 'subject' to this sort of behavior. It's just ridiculous though. Weed aparently causes paranoia. I only get paranoid because I don't want a police officer busting through my front door and stealing my plants and equipment and my weed. Bastards.. Legalisation in Britain is just a dream, unless there's a way we could get enough people to make a stand for it.
Even though, the law is 'tougher' on drugs now... I still manage to get my smoke when I need it.. What's the use when it's so readily available. The government don't like the Dealers, and growers who grow with intent to supply because they don't pay taxes mainly, they don't give a shit about our health because to this day a billion and 1 people still smoke cigarettes. Pisses me off.. And thats my rant in addition to yours :D
I make regular trips to the Netherlands, beautiful country, hopefully the weed-pass law doesn't go ahead. Got until the 1st Jan 2013 to go and have some legal smoke..

i noticed a thing about stereotypes - one cannabinoid in weed actually suppresses appetite - it seems to me that stoners tend to eat healthy and responsibly when they can - here - it is THC-V - how many millions of americans do we know that need one of those? if i knew of a safe appetite suppressant i would not keep it under lock and key when we are dying of our obesity..!

Richard Branson is making slow progress at making this matter public interest but the Daily Mail and other papers are working hard to prevent it. Notice how only the Guardian or independent (cant remember off the top of my head) will publish positive story's about Cannabis (I say positive lightly). The Daily Mail still enjoy demonising cannabis and using the bloody annoying term "skunk cannabis" in reference to the higher THC content strains, the term is obviously confused with the strains that use Skunk in the name. They do this to argue that stronger cannabis is causing problems rather than realising they are comparing it like you could compare larger and whisky, it would be bad to drink whisky like you drink larger, but you don't...

You can get medical cannabis in the UK in the form of Sativex, it is cannabis in a bottle with a price tag of more than £300 a vial (tiny vial), the NHS will not fund it. GW Pharma who produce it, do so with government backing. This is part of the UK's movement to be a leader in the Pharma industry, this is a big reason why herbal cannabis is going to have a hard ride making it out of prohibition. Not to mention the fact that some of those with Chrons or similar like myself cant consume alcohol due to intolerance and Sativex uses Ethanol in the extraction process. My DR accepts my cannabis use as beneficial and has said that Sativex would be the perfect choice because he cannot endorse cannabis use, but I cant consume alcohol and he cant prescribe cannabis. Keep in mind that due to rules with the EU, those who are prescribed cannabis in Holland for example can bring as much as they like into the UK for themselves however UK citizens cannot even with a prescription from a Dutch doctor. You can apply to the home office using documents from the home office website to apply for both a cultivation licence and an import licence however UK citizens are automatically rejected. Doing so was part of the process for me to ensure I had plenty of evidence to show medical use so it can be used as a mitigating factor should I ever be in court for it. New judicial guidelines state that legitimate medical use can be a mitigating factor in cannabis offences, despite the home office stating it has no medical value.

One positive thing I have noticed, the home office no longer cite psychosis as a problem with general cannabis use, it has long been dis-proven that cannabis has any casual link with psychotic illnesses, only in the case where someone is pre-disposed (i.e. it is underlying already).

Because it dosnt feel like we are making any progress it seems like an impossible fight but we are making progress, one small step at a time. Public awareness is needed more than anything, we need non cannabis users to understand that it is not what they have been told it is and that it isnt going to break civilisation if it was legal. Legalising/regulating cannabis only stands to improve matters, not only for the vulnerable but also removing the trade from the hands of the criminals. Hollands weed pass in the two provences it has been applied to so far has already shown an increase in black market trading, a pattern that will only get worse come the new year.

MP's need educating and need to be held accountable for their words.

Several MP's and politicians have spouted blatant lies about cannabis and will never be held accountable for it, to make the matter worse, people believe them. Charles Walker, MP for Broxbourne said that he would rather children tried coke than cannabis... Cameron called cannabis a toxic poison, Brown said that cannabis is deadly! Dont even get me started on Teresa May!

The last person to stand up to the government lost his job over it, David Nutt who was head of the ACMD (Government drug advisor), he said that MDMA and Cannabis where less harmful than Alcohol (proven by several institutions) - he was asked to resign and when he refused he was sacked. In the recent home affairs thingy he said pretty much the same thing, to which the home affairs committ said they where offended at the idea that cannabis was less harmull the alcohol.... this is the level of idiocy we are working with in the UK.

Some thing someone said to me a while ago made quite a bit of sense. Due to the time it takes people to become juduges, poloticians etc they are all working in the past. Our current judges and poloticians are working with the mind set of 20 years ago, it will take another 20 years for people of my generation (I am 25) to come through into these positions and then they will be behind the times too since their mind sets are in that of today...

for years the dutch economy has made millions from tourism alone due to coffee shops then on top of that the natives like a smoke, the states will soon follow suit across the board. im sure the uk government will see that the revenue will help the american economy out and millions will be saved in policing pot. the uk always follows america so hopefully we will be legal soon.

i hate to hear about the paranoia and affects on teenagers that cannabis has, alcohol and cigarettes kill and they make too much money to outlaw, no one ever died from being high, although they did say the zombies were high on skunk cannabis lol

people are buying legal highs in the uk and dying or tearing their own testicles off but we cant get high wtf...

right - he severed his scrotum - no ball removal thankfully... he thought that millipedes were crawling in his flesh and biting him...

if weed had been legal then we would not have so many 'legal highs' - this has been since i was in high school.. almost 20 years of herbal X and crap..
