My Room: 18 Months Later

Well, I have to credit this site for my success. Started out with Stinkbuds aeroponic/nft setup and adapted it to my 5 closets. I've had about 20+ harvests in that time. Most were magazine quality, but not all but they were all useable. Genetics are Greenhouse's Super Lemon Haze and I've been growing and cloning the same plant the entire time. Nutes are Botanicare Pure Blend Pro due to the ability to premix and store the nutes without lockout. I'm also a electronic gadget freak so there are 4 Sentinel controllers with temperature/humidity redundancy. This is way overkill, but as I said I love gadgets. There is a clone chamber not pictured, but it looks like the veg reservoir. I have 6 rails total with 4 sites per rail and setup a 10-14 day perpetual harvest. 4 plants every two weeks yield me about 3-4 oz. I found this to be too much "hands on" work. Going back to twin 12 sites, 35-40 days apart. It's exciting at first, but becomes a lot of work with that much handling, and I can get lazy. My 25 gallon top off reservoir allows me to leave for up to two weeks without touching anything. That is key for me as I travel a lot for work.

Let me know what you think? I'd be happy to answer any questions also.

Very Nice. I would love to have that kind of setup.......it would be hard for me to ever leave the room. I would just sit and watch things grow as I rolled a fat one:)

Thanks Matt. It was like that at first for me in the beginning. Exciting to say the least. Then it becomes a lot like "work". lol

I'll take some and post them. It's not large at all. The closets are all only 25" deep x 40" wide. They were already in place from the previous home owner so i used what I had. I would rather have BloomerBoomer's space. You can never have enough...

I'm in between switching over from perpetual to single harvest so therefore there isnt anything in flower. It's probably the only time you can see it clean! Waiting for 12 clones to pop, which should be shortly from the yellowing.

Cripes sake, I can smell the smoke from here,

ELECTRICAL FIRE HAZARD my man.

Repeat that.

Safety first here. I'm not trying to dump on ya.

You have to wire that up the correct way.

Fires ain't no fun.

If you have to run extension cords, then get the heavy gauge cords.

Yer scaring the crap outta me with those wires.

Plus you have electrical UNDER the ,,,,,

Oh man, not ragging, just saying.

Please rethink the wiring. You are pulling some power in that closet.

Nothing electrical should be under the grow area, water has a way of letting gravity win.

i see you can leave for up to two weeks on the res, but how often do you change the nutes if given your choice?

Man, I really enjoy this site and all the love that comes from it.

Thanks for everyones input, and I understand the concern. I can handle any constuctive criticism as I am an adult, and have thick skin due to middle age!

I ran two 20 amp circuits to the entire op. My utility box is just out of the picture, so the runs were 10 feet. I have electrical experience and ran twin 12/2 lines connected to quadruple gang boxes, then to new 20 amp breakers. I wired the entire thing with the 200 amp service live. Never turned the house off, but I have experience so don't try this yourself. I don't make my living at it, but have enough experience wiring homes and restaurants to be comfortable doing it live. Don't do it.

I did a take-off on every piece of equiment power wise, before deciding on two 20 amp runs. I even thought about running 220 to just the two 600's. Using the 80% rule as a guide, I'm only pulling about 12 amps per side so I'm at 60% capacity in full flower. I have each subsystem equally separated, and split between the two services. All extension cords are 14 gauge, the longest run being 25 feet. They never get above ambient room temperature.

There are two power cords from the humidifiers on the concrete floor under the reservoirs. Fortunately, the closets reside against the drain tile of my foundation if there were a leak in the system. It actually happened, and I drained all four 18 gallon nutrient tubs and the 25 gallon top off res in to my basement. About 90 gallons in all and she drank it like a champ!

Please continue to comment. I tried to be intelligent about the entire setup and it never hurts to play the devils advocate. I don't want to burn my house down, and hopefully will never have a problem. I'm always open to suggestion.
