Got 4 jack herer seedlings that dont want to grow and now theyre starting to lighten up and turn very light green. Theyre in 2 inch seed starting containers with organicare aerated fmix soil and have been feeding them 6.2 ph tap water. And are on 18/6 4 tube t5 fixture a few inches away from the bulb. Ive been having this problem with every seedling Ive been putting in that closet area. Seedlings start out great and healthy and green then grow a little bit, stretch, turn yellow and wont grow after that. What can I do about this to save the seedlings?

could be heat stress brother.. I have t8's so I don't know if the t5's put out as much heat, but a few inches away sounds pretty close to me. Flourecents give off more heat than a HID but it's spread out over a larger area.. so that still transmits to some heat.. pull the lights back to about 8-10 inches and see if that helps with new growth being green.. I'd move it away and watch them to make sure they don't start stretching on you just lower them if you notice that happening and you should have found your sweet spot. Mine is at 8 inches now and mine have started to sort themselves all out... just my 2 bucks.

Thanks for the replies. Overwatering can be ruled out because I do let the containers get dry but not so dry that your damaging roots. I planted them close to a half inch down because I dont like my seedlings falling over because they had such a bad hold on the dirt. It seems like the same symptoms and the seedlings are discoloring. They always start out great when they first come through the surface and look like they want to be healthy plants but turn into this. Should I maby move them somewhere else? I'll try moving them furthur from the lights and see what that does.

perhaps your local tap water is highly chlorinated, maybe let the water stand in the open air for a night so the chlorine evaporates.

I'll flush with some ro water from the store. But how about the nitrogen dose? How should I go about that? Can I save these things? They still look like they want to live.

hey mate, i'm in exactly the same boat as you - JH seedlings, no growth, yellowing, all conditions are within acceptable ranges - i'm using dwc hydro though

here is my thread: https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/228043-month-old-seedlings-only-two.html

I gave mine a very weak feed last night (75ppm floranova grow) so I'll let you know how that goes.

I reasoned it couldn't be anything else as all other conditions are perfect!

Good luck
