That's what I was doing but I had to buy a shitton of seeds because Canadian laws r fucked n I was told they can last up to about 3 years in a fridge at 4.44 degrees c and 50 % RHumidity

I have kept my beans in the fridge for 4 years now in a Jar just popped several new strains the beginning of this year they were all vigorous and healthy. 40 degrees should be no problem my beans drop below freezing every now and again. I did just start storing them with Silica Gel though to absorb extra moisture.

Seeds will last for "several" years at typical room temperature, in the dark, with normal household humidity. I prefer paper envelopes for storage, because you can store hundreds of seeds each - from many strains - and it doesn't take up much space. Plus, you can make notes right on the envelopes, as you see fit.

I have found that seeds last longer (yield better results) when kept at a fairly constant temperature, indoors; than they do when exposed to wide temperature fluctuations, like out in the garage.
