my setup

Hi guys. Ive been a lurker on this site for quite some time, and today i decided to register and hope to help others in the process over time to come :)

I thought i would share my setup with you

I have two units both constructed out of MDF, and stained.

Propogation Unit:
155W twin tube Bright wing Fluro
93CFM Extractor fans for both in and out
Temperature controller with relay swtiching for preset cold level, and high temp level. These trigger either a heating element or the intake fan to come on at full speed to lower the temperature.

Main Unit:
Using a 400W HPS, with a grolux bulb adjusted to give a better spectrum of light in the blues making it suitable for vegetation as well as flowering.

I use Systemair RVK1A fans for both intake and exhaust which again the intake is regulated by the temperature regulator unit. on the intake i use a particle filter to keep the nasties off my babies.

Inside i have a heater. again - controlled by the regulator, and a cage fan for great circulation pointing upwards

At the top, i have a Rhino Pro Filter (Phat filter) which in my opinion works very very well.

Air scrubber:
I built this as a seperate unit which is ducted from the top of the main unit, the air is then treated, and then recirculated back in to the base of the main unit. This allows me to treat the air, while the exhaust fan is not in operation, avoiding unwanted odour buildup.

This unit houses a RVK1A systemair centrifugal fan, with another Rhino filter fast clamped directly to it.

The unit itself has a fan speed controller on the top so it may be altered depending on the stage of growth.

If anyone is interested in what feeds im using, please feel free to ask and i will happily share with you. Its all Organic.

Here is my nutrient tank which holds 20L (5 gal)

All the feeds, additives and boosters i use are organic, and i churn it all up using a large airstone which runs 15 mins on, 15 mins off.

I have also attached the organic feed chart i use. The plants in the first post are 6 weeks old, and ive just switched the lights on to 12/12 commencing week 7

In that last pic what is that?? I see fantronics and i dont know what it is!!
the piece you can see with fantronix on it is a fan speed controller, which i use to set my exhaust speed.

The LCD display next to it is the temperature regulator. as it says there it was 26'C .. when it drops to 25'C the heater is switched on by this unit until its back up to 27 .. if it rises to 29'c, the intake kicks in bringing it back down to 27'c

awesome setup man! How much did that run you in the end? I'm looking to get this right here for mine .

Tent $79.00 : http://www.gyosupplies.com/catalog/p...products_id=61

400w HPS w/ digital ballast $145.00 : http://www.gyosupplies.com/catalog/p...products_id=64

Total w/ out tax, shipping: $224

Still dunno about ventilation, but how much does the Pro Rhino filter run for?
to be honest ive never added it up. one of those where you buy a piece or two a week and just accumulate it over time

ive heard mixed reports about digital ballasts.. apparently they start the bulb softer increasing its life span, and use marginally a smaller amount of elec, but not enough to justify the price difference of a normal ballast. just my opinion ;) but certainly worth reading up on before parting with your dollars

rhinos are around $100 with change

with regardss to tents ive never liked the idea of them.. velcro doors just dont seem tight enough for me, and i would have thought the smell would be difficult to control. and wanting to mod it by adding extra holes etc would be tricky

Thanks for the kind words. if you had seen the state of my hands after constructing the units, you may have retracted the word "professional" :D . i dont mix with power tools

my new addition.

on the left is my new hygrometer displaying relative humidity. It has a relay output and can be used for humidifying or dehumidifying depending on what mode it is set to.

Great for switching between veg, flowering and drying ;-)

Man, I've been a lurker on this site for a bit myself. I've been researching some custom cabinet setups, and I had to register and tell you how sweet this setup is bro.

How much did you spend on your setup altogether? Have you itemized it yet?

(meaning... would you :bigjoint::leaf: )

Very nice work.

if you said around $2000 , you would be in the right area

Thanks for the credits

Hey man what were the dimensions of the flower and grow boxes? Awesome setup btw, I'm thinking of trying to do something similar right now I've got a tent and it's real big and obvious, I want to have something a little more discrete and sturdy that looks like some type of cabinet or furniture. This is one of the best setups I've seen it's got me really thinking now

well the main chamber is
3x3x6 .. after using it for a while i wish i had made it 4x4x6 .. that extra foot each way would be alot better ;-)

as for the propogation/veg chamber, thats 2x2x3 which is perfect in size for what i need
