My Stem Is Way Too Thin

soo. the title basically says it all. my plant is over a month old probably 5-6 weeks and its only 5 or 6 inches tall. the leaves are just coming in for the most part but the stem hasn't gotten any thicker than when it sprouted. what am i doin wrong? btw im growing indoor under an LED light ( i know i know, the light is shitty.) i've also been giving it nutes and shit and its still smaller than it should be at this point:-(
i just wanna bongsmilie

yeah, what kind of led light is that? these are more meant for flowering, esp. the red ones. you *might* be better off using a cheap cfl even, but i'm not sure.

what medium is it in? if in soil, you might have overfed it by giving nutes when too small. however it sounds like you have a different more serious problem. we'll need to see pics of your plant to tell.

i'm not positive but i know the light was used in an aquarium, and im not sure the medium either. it seems the longer i leave the light on and give it nutes with the water the quicker the leaves grow, but not the stem.

Not all aquarium LED lights will work on plants. In the end your plants still need a certain level of light pressure (lumens) and the correct or close enough to correct light spectrum.

Also growing from seed is still a numbers game and it can be a mistake to think that every seed is going to turn out to be front cover canna mag material.

Some of them are just crap, its always best to pop a few seeds and 'weed' out the slow growing weedy ones.

Hard to say though with no pics.

Get some cfls and keep them an inch or two away from top. Or top it now while it is short. Should fatten the stem up. Get a fan blowing lightly across folizge. Good luck

okay, i switched the LED light to a fixture that has a cfl bulb, and i also got a fan in there, now all i can do is play the waiting game and see if it helps.

yeah i doubt it's a light problem. sounds like something else. unless you were keeping it real far. how far do you keep the cfl now?

also, try to find out the wavelength of that led. it may be good

my guess would be the light. do have fans going to strengthen the cell walls?and also how far apart are your nodes...im guessing further then usual

the cfl now is about 5 or 6 inches from the plant. that and the fan seem to be keeping the leaves healthy and they are growing at a good rate. but the stem hasn't shown any signs of improvement.:leaf:

New problem.. basically i had to move my plant to another room thats alot bigger. the air circulation isn't as great but the temperature is about the same. i also have tried a new light. i was using a clf but i switched to a 75 watt grow bulb but its making the leaves reach straight up towards the light. i dont wanna move it closer cuz i dont want the leaves to burn. that and the growth has seemed to slow or even stop. what am i doin wrong?:-(
