My Steralite CFL Grow

To me it seems that the soil you got is perfect for the veg period without the need of nutes. I would say add the shultz maybe a week+days after you switched to 12/12. AND only mix 1/2 of what they suggest.

Looks good! I'm getting ready to take clones myself .......any pointers??

DISCLAIMER: Since my sample size was one, I have no way of knowing if it was success or luck, and there are probably better instructions than mine out there.

What I did was cut the stem at a 45 degree angle then put it immediately in water. Then I shaved off the bottom quarter of an inch or so of the stem's outer skin with a razor blade. After that just a quick dip into some rooting hormone and into a jiffy peat pellet.

Used a teacup with a bit of water in the bottom to keep the peat pellet from drying out, and sprayed the leaves with water every day or so (as needed). Stuck it in a windowsill that got mostly indirect sunlight and waited a week and a half.

Day 6 Flowering

Still pretty early, but seeing what looks like little hairs growing out of the nodes so it looks like I have two females :) Tried taking a picture of them but the camera didn't do so well with the lighting best I could do.

Day 53 Overall
Day 11 Flowering

Been slacking off a bit lately, the clone I took is still sitting on the windowsill and has started to stretch a bit. The box for the clone is nearly complete still have the fans to wire up, and the holes to drill for the intake, but hopefully the clone will be off the windowsill tomorrow and in its own box.

The other two plants seem to be doing well, and not much to report, but plenty of pics :)

Day 57 Overall
Day 15 Flowering

The new grow box is complete, and I have what will hopefully become the mother plant, and the first of the new clones for the next grow.

As far as the grow one of my tops had a run in with the light a couple days ago and got burned a bit, little bit of yellowing on the lower leaves, and I have some purple stems so I am starting to add some fertilizer again. Using 8-14-9 Shultz African Violet now.

Technically you want more N than Pk. & schultz isn't super strong like miracle grow, you can use it full strength now. Also try some molasses (unsulphured, 1 tbsp. per gallon) & maybe something to supplement calcium & magnesium like epsom salts & dolomitic lime. Your plants are nice, good job on topping.

Day 59 Overall
Day 17 Flowering

The lower fan leaves on the plants are getting even worse lately turning yellow. Started back before I had started fertilizing again figured at the time just needed some nutes, but since I have been fertilizing again its really only gotten worse. It seems like this may be a Mg deficiency, but was hoping someone could check out the pics and possibly clarify whats going on.

Day 60 Overall
Day 18 Flowering

So far so good I guess, added in some molasses, as suggested, for the two plants the other day.

Clone #1 (guess this is now the mother plant) seems to be doing very well after being topped. the new clone seems to be getting a little yellow around the edges though. Kinda suspecting it might be an over saturated jiffy cube, hopefully the situation will improve.

looks great love the 4 colas good job....in pic 5-7 the colas is pretty burnt is that due to it touching the lights? all the other yelloing is normal but that cola looks pretty damaged

I was thinking of using the same cab. in your opinion, did it work well enough to suggest to someone else?

Also is this bagseed?

It looks to me like you could be overwatering just a tad. Just make sure the soil is totally dried out before you water again.

Also, you should transplant both of them into good soil. You will be happy you did. And no its not too late to transplant the one in flower.

Yea it had a nasty little run in with the lights about a week back.

The cab is not bad, it is super hard to get light proof though. Other than that it was actually pretty nice to work with.

It is bagseed in the sense that it came from a bag :). It came out of some extremely nice weed though, and since there were only a couple seeds in the whole bag I'm thinking they were hermi seeds, especially since both plants ended up being female.

nice did u use mylar on the inside to try to lightproof it? Also were u able to flower that out of that cab? the only thing i keep thinking about is the plants growing right out of the space available.

I'm really interested in hearing how you light proofed your cab also. I'm currently using one of the old school wooden trunks that people used to take on trains and shit...but it's not exactly stealth since it's tipped on it's side, which looks really awkward. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the grow goes, I know I jumped in late. :)
