My Summertime Outdoor Alaskan Grow...

Well, I am getting myself in line for this summer's newest endeavor, I am moving back to Alaska for my summer break from school and am looking forward to doing my first grow outdoors. I am particularly concerned with the sunlight; mid to late June yields 22-24 hours of straight sunlight. Which will be ideal for growing stages... What is recommended for when I am ready to flower?

I am really new to this if anyone could send me any advance that would be great!

i doubt you will have enough time for the plants to flower b4 the first freeze, but hey if ya got the right strain you could get lucky. (i doubt it though)

alaska gets really cold, really fast. Yes your plants would veg out wonderfully since there is so much light in alaska in the summer months.
The probem is, alaska loses like 5 min a day after the summer solstice, and the temps drop really fast with more darkness.

You would need to find the perfect "Alaskan" Strain, Otherwise you would lose all your buds to freeze damage.

If your plan is to flower them indoors, then more power to ya brutha! thats the way most do it in alaska.

the temp is mid 70s to 80s where I'll be (between Anchorage and Fairbanks) not too humid but I don't percentage off the top of my head. I plan on planting in mid-late May and will have to be done by mid to late August so 3 full months. I was considering planting plants in organic soil in pots which I will then place in the ground checking frequently. and I would either tarp cover the grow or take to my cabin and possibly grow indoors...that's my first idea.

yup i heard about the black bag u can early flower that way by putting the bag over a couple of brachs to tell the sex

I grew a Alaskan strain this year outdoors. Matanuska tundra. Supposedly grows nicely outdoors in Alaska. Check it out. Pretty good strain.

Well, I'm trying to get these details ironed out a bit before I head up there. I think I'll have 3-5 heinous plants and build a small room when its time to flower with 4 4X8 sheets of particle board and then place a piece of corrugated aluminum on top for heat reflection and light reflection with a small solar powered fan and some slats cut to vent any heat. Sound good so far? The plants will be in 5 gal buckets with an organic soil blend so I won't have to worry about permafrosted soil. I'll germinate the plants indoors till they root then move them outside. When they're ready to flower I'll build the walls around and lift the roof off every twelve hours. If anybody has any better methods just post below or pm me. Thanks so far everyone. I'm wanting to maybe grow some OG KUSH or something else with a short flowering time and an Alaskan strain, ATF, MTF, or Northern Lights.

this is a real coincidence b/c i'm interested in growing for the first time when i go to alaska this summer. and i'm asthmatic too!

dude...just go and get some Auto flowering seeds...like masterlow or lowrider # 2...they will eat that shit up ..22 hours like...and you will have smoke in 8 weeks..plant a few every week for a month and that will keep you busy
