Hi there Ive done outdoor grows before and this is my first indoor grow, I'm using a makeshift grow box with cfl lights not a ton of space but it will work. Basically I started a seed I had found in some dank budd I got its about 8 weeks old already. Due to the fact I live in an apartment complex I'm trying to keep it small and do this just for fun and learning. Everything has been going smooth so far last night I decided to transition from veg to flower to stay on small side and when I got home from work the top of the plant looks like it has been snipped off but I never cut it and it was just laying there dead. Can anybody explain what might have happened to it? I'm using a bag seed in fox farms ocean forest with cfl bulbs I've given no additional nutrients just light and water and I've trimmed it once to take off stuff that was getting in the way and to small to produce. The plant is just starting to make pre flowers so I don't know if it's male or female yet for sure.

I've seen nothing as far as any bug damage to the plant it was literally fine last night then I worked a four hour shift and this is what I came home to. I'm not sure what to do, I noticed really really really small amberish color mites I think and I called the hydro store I got the soil from and he said it sounded like predatory mites and he said they won't harm the plant cuzz they don't eat plants.

Ocean forrest has preditory mites sometimes. As for your plant. Because of the fiberous vasuclar nature of marijuana. The only thing i know of that will do that is the larva od the borring beetle. They dont hurt foilage at all. You wont even know you have it untill the stalk breaks.

looking at the evidence(pic1) it appears to be a Pythium attack

to the left is the obvious evidence

you picking and trimming carried the spores ?

I'm sure you got mold on your outdoor grows before??

reduce water stay sharp

good luck

I water twice a week sometimes three depending, in the first picture you can see the part that fell off and dried up. It looked like it had gotten cut off as if someone tried to "top" the plant and left the new node and growth laying there who knows perhaps I did it in my sleep. Still confused but still gunna hope for the best

once you grow weed and do a harvest

many if not all members do note that weed stems are hollow

but for what reason can you think?
Had many harvests. Never saw a hollow stalk. Im all indoors. Im sure growing giant trees outdoors ya may see this. I just havent yet
