My ultimate soil grow using Moonshine Soil Mix with LOTS of pictures! 3 strains!

i did outside grow b4 never finished as i had to move... but it sure did smell good..

What do you think of the soil

Seeing how I am using FOx farms big and chunky, planting mix, light warrior, and ocean forest mixed up.

You think that soil alone provide for some tasty buds? I heard so, but I also hear alot of things... I like those purple plants outdoors.. looks nice, yea right now I am focusing on indoors, someday I get the outdoor thing going...

yeah that purple plant is what im also growing indoors ive been keeping that strain alive for 2 years.
with soil this is what you want,
Airy light and fluffy, not heavy and dense, thats why weed like cooco rocks cuz they are airy.
i use sunshine number 4 argate plus, and i just keep reusing the soil but i flush it out real well with water + peroxide and replemish the nutes and organisms and it works well everytime! no need to buy new soil every grow, unless your rich and like buying stuff lol
soil is soil, the diffrence between buying new soil is its just preloaded with nutes lol
what you have sounds pretty decent im not super familiar with fox farm products due too i live in canada and we have a diff lineup.
but soil is soil none the less. and i wouldent just rely on the soil's supply of nutes, from when you pot your plant in fresh soil you got about 2 weeks before it runs out of food.
use molasses and fungi cultures, the eat the sugars shit nutes its all good.

Well pretty much this soil is a super soil ,as they say.. IT is so rich in nutes that people have been known to just add water and get good buds...still people add stuff, like myself I use hygrozyme and liquid karma.. I will soon be using blackstrap mollasses and might add some tiger bloom or big bloom for floweing additive.. someone swears that the regular perlite just gets compressed... however using this big and chunky perlite...

And I mean chunks! this stuff is chunky and big.! it rreally helps aerate the soil... I used quite a bit to help fluff out the soil.

Those are the products i mixed in for soil. I may possibly add more stuff to it next go round I still have a big tub full of unused new soil already mixed.. i thought about selling it on ebay.. lol but i rather not. Just keeping it as I need more soil.. anyways I thought about reusing my soil.. after to look more into washing it and giving its nutes backs... see how that works for out...

Hey I've been subscribed for a while cause I'm interested in the super soil idea for a future guerilla grow. I was just reading through randomly, and it looked like you said you are using your T5's and an HPS as well? But you T5 looks like it's on top. If that's right then you're blocking the HPS? What did you end up doing? Maybe I didn't read far enough

My hps and t5 are both on top... side by side.. HPS is a inch slightly above t5 and 1/2 inch of t5 is under hps light. So there is really no blocking of the light. Those are just estimated measurements though...

I also have supplementary lighting below those lights which consist of cfls. I plan on adding more, I did have cfl fixtures within grow area however it was to crowded so i needed something small that has a clip to provide good side lighting.

The red dwarf and auto ak47 really are doing great. I believe I am giving them full nutes according to bottles: liquid karma, big blooom, and tiger bloom. Also like to NOTE: to myself and others MAKE SURE ALL LIDS ARE CLOSED BEFORE PLACING BACK ON SHELF! I lost my ph down recently due that, and today i spilled all of my Hygrozyme! Shit pisses me off I did that.. and I can only get mad at myself...anyways lesson learned.

I have been training these girls and spreading some of the bud sites apart using plant ties. Really good stuff for me. I simply twist around branch ( certain spots) bend tape down to container and bam! These plants just go with the flow.. After doing this apx to 8-9 spots I was able to spread them apart. So the light now enters all the bud spots and each one gets plent of light. Before without any training I would of had 2 footers shooting up all over the place crowded out. Now there looking good, wish i could provide some pics. I am really glad that I spaced my auto ak47's out. I say this because the one is freaking huge and I just couldnt see how 5 of those plants do in 4x5 space.

After watering these females, being so low to the ground, made be think about redesigning my grow room. Perhaps I should have these plants at least 1.5 feet high. I say this because, especially med patients who grow there own. Some who have medical problems being on your knees and bending down cramping in to work on your ladies can seriously be demanding! I was thinking it be so much easier if these plants were perhaps raised up from ground level? which brings me to new ideas.

What If I was able to build a shelf like design where a tray sits above ground level 1.5 feet or so. This is where the plants would sit in.. Then a hose attached somewhere in that tray for excess water to run off. That way when you water all the excess goes into a bucket or some sort. So the water just doesnt sit there. I been using individual trays for a while now. I realized that sometimes that water can sit there long enough to develop algae. Which is a concerned for my flowering plants, I do not need any fungi growth at all. So one giant tray for all the plants with hose for run off to desired spot. with plants being up higher granted I lose my height, but when growing autos.. I still have plenty height to work with. Even with non autos this would be for vegging only. Any input on this idea be great, I am still working on it, and hope to provide pics and possilby diy journal.

I did alot of research and I wanted to make sure that my first harvest, i did everything thing right. When i mean right, lights, nutes, soil, love, care, air, temps... all within ideal range. I spent like 100 bucks on dam soil alone! I mean that alone I feel should get me some good results... Like i said I am all new to this, so hopefully everything goes well.

Not trying to be smart but you would be better off putting 3000k lamps into your t-5 for flowering. CFL's you can find 2700k. These lamps put out much more in the red spectrum which is what your plants need for flowering. 6500k is for vegging. Your grow looks good.

ITs good to have both spectrums in for flowering. As you notice the HPS is plenty for the flowering spectrum, especially considering majority of my cfls are flowering spectrums. The t5 's only has one bulb for floweriing rest are 6500 k.

Rather then switch bulbs throughout grow i rather have all spectrums similiar to the sun, including in the future uvb light.

I am considering perhaps getting another 400 or 600 cool tube use that as mh along with the 400 hps. Wonder how much more I will yeild with those autos. Def. be alot of light putting out thats for sure, then i can put those t5s on the side for side lighting.

oh cool that works. I couldn't see that from the pics I saw. I'm all OCD tho, I couldn't handle all the stuff you have in there lol. I hate to think about what all the wiring and such looks like. If I had all that lighting and room, and the money to get another HID light, I'd have all the floros in a veg/mom/clone space. I didn't do the math, but with as much as you mention you're prob coming close to equalling the output of a decent MH. I'd attach all floros to one piece of wire mesh shelving - with each one adjustable of course, and cfls on the sides - and the piece of shelving attched to yo-yo's to the roof. But I'm no expert and I'm not gonna tell you you SHOULD do this or that. Fact is you got a lot of lights and bunch of pot plants and you'd have to try pretty hard to NOT end up with a bunch of great meds. Have fun!

Oh and the guy who said blue is for veg is wrong and your right, rep for that. Why would horilux be constantly redeveloping their bulbs to get more blue in the HPS and more red in the MH and more complete spectrums in both. If you had to choose, it's red for flower, but this isn't 20 years ago. techs come a long way

have anyone used promix bio soil? how was the results?

UPDATE! PLants are doing great! developing strong buds and hairs turning orange-pink Some of the leaves are picking up a slight purple color. REally frosty and nice looking! Wish I had a camera to take pics.

FINALLY ! I got a camera! SO how do these ladies look? If you had to guess how much longer would ya say? Suppose to be done by Dec 30th.

They are really frosty and have a nice odor.. She is already developing purple due to the temps. Temps drop at night within a desired rate, but this is causing it to turn slightly purple. I was thinking if Purple Maxx might help it out turning it more purple, but I am going to leave it alone.

I just started feeding it Grandmas Molasses which I found at wally world. It may not be the best molasses to use, but it still works. I am using for those tuning in, strictly organic nutes and soil.

I stopped ph the water, and gave it regular tap water out of my faucet. This may not be recommended depending on where you live, but my plants are taking fine to it, as you can see.

Only use Grandmas molasses, Fox Farms: Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Ocean Forest, Light Warrior, Planting mix, Big and chunky Perlite, and liquid karma. This is what she has treated me with as of today.

These are the pics of the red dwarf, notice the hairs are not orange on this plant... Must be genetics.. Once again this is all new to me..

She smells great, and smokes is alright considering I did a small early harvest. REally has a great smell, I am sure she will be up there in quality with the easy ryder.

She is a darker green then the auto ak. Perhaps the Auto ak was more nute hungry then this one, both are still doing great.

You may be wonder why these plants have branches sticking out and curving, especially my main colas which are really curved. This has helped out alot, for one it prevents it from strectching allowing the rest of the plant to kinda "fill in"

I am quite pleased with the success of this grow, of course I still have time ahead of me, but so far I am on the right track.

I cropped the last pic and adjusted it to give you a better quality pic. THis plant may not be as frosty as the easy ryder but she is doing just fine.

The first pic is LA WOMEN FEM. She is looking good, I am going to flower her when I get a flower tent, in the mean time vegging is where she will stay.

The next one is a easy ryder in a grow bag, I was not fond of the grow bags as you can tell I only have one in use, out of 10. This easy ryder is a runt, and may be due to the size of the bag. I careless if she stays small, as ther others are doing great. The next easy ryder which both are in flowering right now , will be the same size as the other one I have. She is taking in the same foot steps as my other one did. Comparing pics from when I last posted I say these ladies are doing mighty fine..
