My very first grow

Hi guys I started my first grow about 2 weeks ago (28/10/10).They are Royal
Automatic seeds(60 day wonder),I germinated them in Jiffy Peat pellets for 4 days in a propagation tray which was left beside a radiator. Then I transfered them into half liter pots Filled with regular compost.

They are now enclosed in a space 2 foot by 5 foot lined with mylar with two 24w whitetube florescent lights(I Know it needs more lights)Advice.....

Next I plan to put them into five liter pots.I have got bags of 50 liter Pre-mix(Sphagnum peat,Worm Castings,Perlite,E.C2.4 P.H6.6.
Then into a space roughly 8 foot by 8 foot lined with mylar under 2 600w HPS lights, and of course some sort of ventilation system and a fan.

Anyway thats all I got for now but like the title says this is my first grow so
I would really appreciate any advice, tips of tricks you guys have:clap:

Ps I'm growing in Ireland And I also uploaded some Pics:idea:

They are stretched to the point of falling over because the light is too far away (and you probably need more than just one 26w light for that space). Could you throw at least a a couple of extra CFLs in there until you are ready to start running the 600 watts? When you transplant/repot, you can bury them down a bit deeper to correct some of that stretching, but I wouldn't let it get any worse than it already is.

Thanks for the quick advice guys

Raised all plants using bits and pieces from my house (only temporary) so now they are nearly all around 2 inch's from lights.Should I put them under the 600w HPS(at a good distance)??????????any thing else?

Also forgot to mention last time I have been using water with a Ph of 7 since the start :dunce:!!!!!!(Need to get stuff for Ph)

More pics!

They will grow a lot faster and a lot stronger under the HPS, just put it on 18/6 cycle. I agree, that single light probably isn't enough and probably almost needs to be touching the plants. Put up your HPS about 4 feet about the plant and they should grow just fine.

Note: I'm still new, that's just my advice... but wait for others.

I also noticed you're using glasses for a few pots. Ditch those and use something else. Light = Bad for roots.

Hey guys put the 600w light on the night before last, only turning it on for
9 hours at day at the moment(cheaper rate of electricity this way)and
already there is a massive improvement....

Thinking about transplanting in the next week???

Ditch the clear cups, the roots are going to die if they are exposed to light...

Also.. 9 hours of light total? They need 18 - 24 hours of light during veg

Already looks like it's got some nute burn. Are you feeding them any nutrients? Curling could also be from air circulation.
