My WalMart Active Carbon Scrubber

So I got a air purifier from good old walmart for around $50, and well it said it had active carbon and hepa, well like others it was ok but def far from enough, SO after reading another thread about making your own carbon filters I made mine for my own filter machine, and after a hour I could tell a diffrence.

You can get active carbon from about anywhere that sells fish tank shit, just look for "actived carbon".

Get some towls like scotch disposable towls or something, make a pillow case out of them, fill with the carbon and find a way to mate it to your rig.

Here is the thread I read about making these filters. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/63004-my-3-carbon-filter.html

Oh yeah Im sure you could find cheaper I already had the purifier so I just bettered it, I was going to make filters a put on the back of a regular box fan, and I still will.

It def works, I have 20 plants and some drying in the room and it's helping ALOT

I folded one into it and used a zip tie to hold together so no tape or anything, should work just fine.

Here is my new cheaper version, and much better I do believe.

Formerly my DTY hydro setup but since the one plant left went to a 5gal bucket there were already holes cut so all I had to do was add a fan and make some filters.

10 Gal Tub $3.50 Walmart
Fan $7 Walmart (got it on sale end of last summer)
Handi wipes $1.47 for a couple, this used 2 or 3
Active Carbon $6.47 walmart (used about 2/3 of it)

Pretty damn cheap and it has defeated the smell in my room 100%.

It doesnt blow much air out or suck it in, but it does work all on it's own, Im very much impressed.

Under $20 I bet I saved $140 there atleast.
God I love good RIU and good ol Walmart.

Still running like a champ, all this shit and it keeps the smell down by 70-80%
when the smell comes back i shake the unit to cycle around the carbon and it works just fine. Gonna change the carbon next week.

Hey man
I use duct tape and/or zip tie (I use both, either is fine)

Ill have to say this can't compete with a real scrubber, BUT it will out do any walmart active carbon unit by far.

I'm breaking down and ordering a real inline scrubber, also because Im going to get 2 1Kw HPSs right soo so i have alot to deal with.

This one was the lesser of the performer so today I threw it in the box and hauled it's ass back to walmart for my $69.95 refund.

And yeah without opening the box they took the hook.
