Mycorrhizae Question?

I read somewhere that mycorrhizae does not work when using chemical based nutes. Does anybody know if this is true? Right now I am using Canna because from what I understand they use food based chemicals.

Also, I would like to go organic, but I'm not sure if I can given my set up. Does anybody know if you can use organic nutes in wick buckets?

Mycorrhizae do work with chemical nutes. You basically have to keep your PPMs low enough to not kill the mycorrhizae. There are certain levels of the three major elements that you can't go over.. I forget what they are exactly.

My thinking is that if you are good at chemical wick buckets, you should keep doing that and do a test of organics. I can just imagine the wick becoming nasty, but I haven't done any wick stuff.

well this is my first time with wicks. a friend of mine has been using them for years and loves them, but he has never tried organics with them. how do you test for ppm?

You use a PPM or EC meter..
organics will just complicate your hydro grow unless you really understand both hydroponics and organics..
