Mystery seed, first grow, CFL

I've only used the paper towel method since I first received seeds a few weeks ago. The first couple of seedlings grew fast with the old CFL setup, hopefully this new light speeds things up.
 
Same here, any bud would be a success from this grow, my next one will be done with a lot more care. I would love to get 2 or 3 in a hydro set up and 2 soil under this light
 
I had to go back to the cfl's for now, that hps was generating too much heat and it kept the entire living room almost lit up completely. I'm looking at grow tents now...
 
Damn that sucks biut hey live and learn. This HPS was a loaner right? or did you buy it? If you bought it I'd recommend getting a duct fan and some ducting and hooking it up to the light so it draws all the heat out ya know
 
Sorry to hear that you can't use the new light yet, thats a bummer. Hopefully you will be able to put it to good use after your move.
 
It's a loaner but my friend is in no hurry to get it back, I doubt he'll even want it back if I can get some good use out of it. I need to make a better setup where the plants aren't so close to the light, I have enough for ventilation, I just need to figure out a cheap way to get the lights up another foot or so off the tote



I'm also planning to pick up some foxfarm today, I wish I had done that from the beginning
 
Pop acouple of eyehooks in the ceiling or something above the box. String some twine through the eyehooks. Tie to either end of HPS light. and BAM you got an adjustable light fixture that you can move up & donwn depending on what ur plants need.
 
That's the problem, I don't want to do anything else to this apartment, I'm already painting and covering up stuff to increase our return deposit. I might have a grow tent on it's way by the end of tonight... I'm looking at Secret Jardin or Homebox
 
I don't have anywhere to put a fridge, the tent will work perfect since we don't plan to hide it from anyone. If it's quiet enough we might just keep it in our bedroom. They're easy to break down and rebuild and everything is built in, all I'll need is bigger pots for soil, nutes and co2, I already have the lighting, maybe some more ventilation but I think it will be alot less maintenance
 
Well I dont know what the fuck happened but that seedling completely failed. I dug it up and the root is still white, I resoiled it, put a dome over it and put it directly under a cfl... Looks like I'm going to go pick up some better soil in a few hours and if the weekend doesn't break my bank account, I'm ordering a grow tent on Monday
 
The other 4 I have germinating don't seem to want to crack so if that one doesn't break soil I'll probably just stop completely until I'm all set up to try it again, the right way.
 
damn buddy been having some bad luck with that. Jeeze this one better pop through, i don't wanna see you hang up ur gardening gloves yet
