Afghooey S - I swore we were going to lose her when she was smaller. She came back with a vengeance! Glad she proved me wrong!

Brain's Escape - I love the way this girl grows! She's like a little cyclone of buds! Glad we have a healthy clone of this one for the next round!

Wow, they're chunking up pretty fast there, missy. Is that a warm spectrum fluoro you're using? I would swear it's hps if not for the big bulb inches from your plant.

They're his stems too!

And yes, warm spectrum bulbs. 2700k. We've actually got 6 -2700k and 4 -6500k bulbs going plus 2 blue colored tubes. They're actually 100w equivilants, which comes out to about 26 watts a piece. So believe it or not, we're just above 300w total with this grow. Amazing huh? Proximity is super important with floros. You don't want it too close or you'll burn and too far away you get crap growth. I try to keep the tops within about 5 inches of the bulbs.

On another note, I'm seriously beating myself up right now! :wall: :wall: :wall: If you haven't been paying attention, I fertilized on Tuesday.

We had been doing double dose of the Techniflora veg ferts with no problem. I even did a triple once and they were all just fine. From what I've heard Techniflora is on the lighter side anyways. So we continued to double dose with flower ferts. The first was just fine so I doubled it again. Did the second dose of flower ferts Tuesday and now I've got nute burn! Dammit, dammit, dammit!

Fortunately it doesn't seem that there is too much damage. It's confined to 2 plants mostly, MKA & Afghooey S. Brainy is showing some signs of nute burn as are a few of the others but they don't have the crisp yet. (keeping my fingers crossed!) I should have singled it since it's a different mix to see how they handle it first. I fucked up! Everything was so perfect! and I just had to try and push them! Grrrrr... that's what I get! Excuse me while I rip myself a new one.... :wall:

:dunce:

MKB is the worst off, she's also one of our smallest plants. You can see her crispy burnt edges :cry:

Afghooey S looking a little crispy on her tips. She's actually curling upward too. :wall:

Edit - looking at the last set of pics I did of affie S I think I can see slight signs of nute burn on a few leaves. So it seems I just didn't see the little signs, they had to scream at me to let me know I'm burning them... bad mommy!

Here's a couple overview shots of the group. Everybody looking a little worse for wear. I know nute burn isn't a huge deal, but I'm a perfectionist! This is killing me! Not a mistake I'll be making again soon! :dunce:

Heh. I see why your upset, but could be way worse! I REALLY burned my ladies that are flowering right now this cycle. Ugh, I wish it would have been as mild as yours lol. But still, mine are doing fine. Yours still look lush and green, and with as much attention as you pay to them, I don't forsee you havin any major problems. Girls look great!

I wouldn't worry too much about nute burn...even if it's on the small leaves shooting out of the actual buds. Throughout my long history I've danced with nute-burn in the moonlight on more than one occassion. Especially when one forces plants to drink at their absolute limit like I do. I burned my GHOST Cut OG grow, but the final bud was one of my best.

I made an overfert mistake the other day too. I saw them running at 1400ppm but in less than five hours they drank it down to 1350ppm. This made me think that these plants are indestructible so I pumped it back up to 1450ppm when I originally had it in my mind to ratchet it down. The next day it rose to 1500ppm. When I see a ppm rise, it's usually because I forgot to plug in my topper switch, but it was plugged in and working. So I pumped out some of the water and let the topper dilute to 1350ppm.

My current plants have the slightest touch of nute burn too. It's always just a little dangerous to push the limit...and sometimes we pay a price... But your yield won't suffer because of it, just won't look as picture perfect... You'll laugh about this when you're burping your jars.

Thanks guys! Makes me feel a bit better. MKB is the worst off by far. She's got burn on most of her larger leaves. Affie is mostly on the higher tops. The others seem to be mostly fine. A few burned leaves on Brainey. Cali is still curling a little, but no major burn on her yet. I did do a quick flush last night with about half a gallon of water each to try and prevent any further damage. Here's hoping! The funny thing is that MKA isn't fazed at all by this. She's only slightly bigger than MKB and I think she's from the same mother. No curl, no burn, nothing. Makes me glad I watered MTF with about 1 1/4 or so nute solution. She's perfectly happy and perky in her corner of the box, laughing at the burned ones next to her

Don't beat yourself up!! Unfortunately, every plant would like a little different mix, so finding a happy medium is key. That's why a grow of all the same strain is easier, but we know variety is the spice of life and who wants all the same?

Whenever you notice a burn....flush!!

And yes, MK's were from the same mom. We are letting MK and MTF go.... looking at the next round and really, with all the choices there are, we are retiring these two. We are going to try and not crowd our girls up as much, doing a smaller batch....but being able to let them spread a bit, I don't think it will hurt yield, they won't be shading each other as much :eyesmoke:

I'm mostly over it. With some of the stuff I've seen on here, I'm not doing to bad

Growing the same strain is probably easier, but yeah, I like variety too! Some days a good hard kick is nice, other days it's nice to have a mellow chill. With so many varieties to choose from, I don't understand how anyone can pick just one! I sure as hell can't! They're like pokemon! I wan't one of each! Man oh man the garden I would have if I could.....

For now, we're keeping the MTF. As much of a picky bitch she is, I love her smell! We're planning to take a flowering clone from one of the MK's too. Hopefully it will take  I'd like to try her with amber trichomes before we decide to push her out. If nothing else I'm sure we can find a home for some full grown plants if we get them most of the way veg'd and decide that it's a strain we'd rather not continue with. Yay for CL....

They're not looking any worse. I just went up and checked on them. They sure are putting off a stink though! good thing that filter is going up this weekend!

I have read that if your girls are perfectly happy, they don't stink. I guess I have never gotten mine to that stage as they always sink...but more when I mess with them.

Taking a clone from a flowering plant doesn't always work, but when it does it takes a long time for the clone to turn around. I have an MK if you would like, but she may be too big for you...perhaps just clone her up? The ones's I am not keeping haven't been getting the very best of care, but even though very root bound in her dixie...she would still be fine to clone.

Now, MomaPug, you know I'm gonna ask you to elaborate making a comment like that.

Your poor orphan dixie's!

I don't think MTF will ever be "happy" But until we try her we can't let her go!

If you'd like to offload your extra MK, I'll chop her up! But I don't want to seem greedy ;-)

We really owe you dinner or something for all you've done for us Moma! You're awesome!

BBQ weekend sometime soon? We'll bring potato salad and some sort of meat? ;-)

I really wish I could remember where I read it. I think any female plant is going to try and stink a little to attract bees and such...after all, her job is to get pollinated!! But I did read that the more "content" they are, they less odor they emit. I half believe this...shoot, when I walk into my grow, and don't even touch anyone...they start smelling stronger to me. Mess with them, trim or move and whew! The amount of stink they put out even changes with watering. Maybe I just have a sensitive nose?

You aren't greedy, your saving a life!! I kid you not, some have hit the trash barrel of late...just don't want to blow the numbers deal :-)

The first "hot" day we get.....head this way!! It is really nice and cool here in the forest, takes about ten degrees of the thermometer. Maybe we better make it the next sunny weekend though, we won't be getting hot for some time to come...lol

This is a great place to BBQ and you are welcome any time, we have a nice fire pit for when it gets dark also. It is nicer when it warms up more though...then the tadpole can enjoy the pool :-) We are working on getting roof bids right now, we may have it together and have both places "livable" by later this summer, been working on the one slowly for three years now...when we get that together we can invite friends for the weekend and give them a place of their own to stay!!

That's fascinating. And I think it's true. With some of my past grows, I have noticed the strength of the odor come and go. In fact I would say that week 4 to week 6 is usually the peak of the odor for me, and it seems to settle a little as the nugs finish. So when they're a the peak of releasing their odor, they're at the height of their discontent at not being pollinated. Hmmmm....

Or at their peak of sexuality? The 6 week mark would be her most fertile time? Getting pollinated past the 6 week mark may not give her enough time to make viable seeds? Very interesting thought indeed :-)

+ rep for you!
