It would be a good battle with a few companies. Maybe once AT's new stuff comes out they could be a more clear winner, but till then it's just talk unfortunately. The current AT120 still holds it's own even after 4yrs.

I'll keep dreaming about it happening

I got the spectral graphs for the white's from cidly.

This is the 2700-3000k

THis is the 6000k-6500k led.

this is the 12,000k led.

I think the 6000k-6500k and mix in some red not sure if I should put in some 660 too.

I do. I want as full of spectrum as I can get. The 6000k-6500k with some red and maybe some IR. Seems like it would be a pretty full spectrum. I'm thinking of IR because the white looks a little low to me in IR. The only problem is that the regular apollo 6 can only take 36 white bulbs. They have the aquarium fixture that only has 72 bulbs that can have alot more white.

Ya their whites are peaking in the red very low. Needs to be closer to 630+ ideally.

And most people rocking apollo's do the aquarium so they can uses more whites or blues.

Picking a spectrum is becoming a pain in the ass!!! I am close to just buying a hans panel. Except he stopped answering my emails.

Maybe I should just save up for like 10 years and buy an apache!!!!

How much does an apollo cost with shipping? I never looked at their prices direct from cidly.

I know the apollo 4 is $125 plus $54 to ship so $179. The apollo 6 is $175 plus $65 to ship so $240. I lost my price sheet somehow. Those are the only prices I remeber.

Good price considering everyone else is $319.95 and up. Plus when you order direct you can customise your spectrum minus the pain in the ass trying to fiqure out what to order.

All of the apollo grow's I've seen have been pretty nice.

I emailed Illumitex about ordering the X5 spectrum NeoSols and they pointed me to hydrofarm. Hydrofarm didn't have any X5 info online so I emailed them. Waiting on a reply back.

So I asked growershouse.com about ordering an X5 spectrum NeoSol, they said they needed to ask Illumitex if they could get them. Growershouse got back to me and they said that they were told that after extensive testing, the red/blue F3 significantly outperformed the X5 so it is discontinued.

Interesting to say the least.
I would swear that the F3 spectrum uses reds and whites. I've seen them in the flesh, but I may be confused about this.

Speaking of the folks at I-mex I don't remember seeing these.

Damn everytime I'm ready to make a decision, something new pops up on my radar. Very frustrating. And tempting. Just start stringing these fuckers all over a grow tent, huh?

Hahaha...i remember about 3 months ago going to the diamond grow site. There must have been a glitch in their pricing....as each one of their Illlumitex powered LEDs was about $7! I loaded my trolley with 20 of them...a couple of days later i got a refund....haha DAMN! :)

DO NOT WASTE your moneys. I am making a led fixture for 140w 3000k, 5000k, 660nm and the price will be under 500USD! using CREE Xpe2 and best 660nm can find. heres a proto:

Also this is what im getting now with 90w on(cool white, warmwhite, 630nmx8450nmx2 CREE ) without 50w 660nmred :

90w:

50cm = 12000lux
2feet: 11400lux
115cm: 3200lux

EDIT: in the pictures theres no aluminium fixture and 60degree optics i update the pics ASAP.
Cooling is Swiss made CPU and i can say that even with 950mA the led:s run smoothly without heat.

Reviving an old thread here.. lol.

The X5 spectrum is nothing special really.. growers have been doing it for years with HIDs... usually at a 2:1 or 3:1 hps to mh ratio. Even with fluorescents, at a 1:1 ratio of Warm Whites and Cool Whites. Instead of going through some company to build your light for you, you can use Cree Warm Whites and Cool Whites. The Cool Whites themselves have more lumens per watt than an hps.

Here's your X5 Spectrum:

Here's the Cree XP-G Warm Whites, Cool Whites, and Neutral Whites:

The Warm Whites cover the X5 spectrum all by itself, but mixing with Cool Whites will be better for a higher blue ratio.. making for a more "whitish" light like the X5.

And as you can see... the Cool Whites give off 139 lumen per watt.. that's more than an hps. There's newer Cree diodes out that have even higher outputs too.

Here's the Cee XT-E:

160 lumen per watt... far more efficient than an hps.
