Nasty brown leaves after 1 week vacation

Hey guys/gals...

Has anyone seen the like of what I have on my hands right now? This is only my second grow so I am quite new to this. My first one went perfectly

DWC, 8Gal tub w/ 6Gal water in it
250W MH, Grow space is 2x2
Temp: 84F
Hum: 40%
PPM: 687-800 (my meter reads 687 in the tub and 800 in a cup scooped/left out for 5 min)
PH: high 5-ish (I only have the liquid tester and it's yellow with a bit of a redish tinge to it. At most the PH is 6 on the button)

My mix:
* R/O water (13ppm)
* Cal-Max (GrowTek) to 200ppm
* Pure Blend Pro Bloom & GrowTek's Monster Bloom (0-50-30) to 800-850ppm
* PH Up to get it just below 6 as the above mix's PH makes it's way down to 5 or just below 5.

This is exactly what I did on my last grow without any issues at all so I am stumped as to what's going on this time round.

I just changed the entire water yesterday and the new growth already has brownish tips and the bigger fan leaves are just getting worse... :( I just emptied about 1/3 to 1/2 the solution and dropped it down to the 687ppm listed above.

I just got back from a 1 week vacation and the plants sadly had to be left alone. I changed the water mix just before I left and everything was perfect, plant was nice and green, all the mix #'s checked out as they have been for the past while.

Any thoughts?

Oh, and I did just move them from my small starter area with CFL's into my main flowering area w/ the 250MH... I had the light about 5" from the plants but after reading a few posts I just pulled it up to about 10".

Lets hope that helps...

Looks like only one thing-- it got crispy from the light. Do you have any moving air in the chamber?

Also I've always kept ph of botanicare products at 6.2 for DWC and Soilless. But I highly doubt you've gotten all that damage from a PH diff of 0 .4. Looks like light damage to me.

Yeah, I have two fans in there. One blowing air out/around the hood and one blowing directly at the top of the plant / at the light. At most the temp in there gets up to 88/89F during the day.

I hope it's just the light. It sure was a shocker to open the cabinet to that sight. Poor little girl. :(

Lol. The one time I took a vacation with a grow in the closet, turned out to be the best 9 days of growth ever seen in all my 10 years.

Had 6 little Apollo 11 clones all about 4 inches tall in a homemade DWC rubbermaid, using GH 3-2-1 veg formula.Under 400 watt HPS. Came back to a half dozen beauties over a foot and a half tall, with lush green growth, spaghetti roots, and resin all over the stems! They had sucked up about 4 gallons, and there was just a film of water bubbling at the bottom.

Came back just in time.

But less can be more, sometimes.
