In nature i think the cure is more microbial, whereas in jars its more evaporative for control.
I believe a natural cure is one where you take off the fan leaves, and lay the rest of the branches with buds and sugarleaves in a pile on a tarp, which you then use to cover and wrap the weed. Every night you rotate all the branches and as they start to feel the correct moistness you remove them to jars for a day just to even out the levels.
Microbes consume the chlorophyll and the sugars begin to ferment from the heat generated by these microbes, making it a natural way to cure.
We need to remember that nothing happens in nature by itself. If we want something to rust we need oxygen, if we want something to rot we need bacteria or microbes, if we want something to evaporate we need the correct temperature, for the pressure we are at.
Curing is the process of removing chlorophyll and breaking down plant matter into sweet sugars. If we could develop a process that would eliminate chlorophyll and not harm the scents or oils in the weed, we would have perfected the cure. Until then the best methods we have are what we know! IF you an spare a few nuggets each grow to test things on, you may be the one credited with the best new method of curing!
