Nc outdoor grow

Hello all I did a couple hours of scouting today and what ive found is runoff ditches snaking all through the forest leading up to the creek and dozens of thickly ferned/pined(short pines) areas alongside them. All over the 5 or so acres that make up my backyard im interested in growing a dozen or so autoflowers with afew sativas farther out.

Pic is rough ms-paint of my backyard (im horrible at scale, and about half the grow-spots are not even included on this side of the creek lol but it might give you an idea of what im working with and im wondering if autoflower strains can do indirect sunlight in those grey areas as there is some fine (natural) drainage ditches going through it.

The autoflowers im hoping to grow between ferns along the sides of these runoff ditches going all the way to a creek. If you guys could recommend a hardy little autoflower strain that would grow well with supervision about once a week in the nc piedmont climate (thats easy on the wallet heheh). I wouldnt mind any short indica that doesnt give off to much odor either.

Sativa I really wanna go with c99 anyone have some extra info on it? im planning on having 3 or 4 dispersed throughout a group of pines around 20 to 40 yards away from a creek. I would like to grow them danger close to my house because of the low smell and because I would be able to protect my most favorite of strains well but I cant let anything go over 10 feet and knowing my luck they'll be 18' in 2 months time.

We live in the same area... I've cut through a lot of that type of brush and shit in the woods around my area and cleared out a spot just like you have there, near a river just like you have :P

Can I guess that that brush consisted of a ton of thorny vines coming from the ground and other various plants like that; which are near impossible to pass through unless you butcher the area with clippers/a machete or something like that.

I'm going to be attempting an almost exact scenario as this with LR#2

Can I ask you what city/county you live in?

From what I've conducted about our areas is that, if theres pine trees near it's probably very acidic soil, and if there's tons of just general maple leaves and other leaves covering the ground the soil is probably very good.... which those facts kind of apply to all areas but yeah.

Any grow journal you start I'll be following since we're in the same areas :weed:

Lol sounds good I live just west of charlotte, and I dont really have to much of a problem with that brush anymore aside from the stuff right behind my house. and Ill try and get a ph reading tomorrow on all the areas.

Yeah I find the brush isn't hard to get through if you have some sort of cutting utensil....

Good luck, when do you plan on starting your crops? Since we have similar climates I would want to here what your grow plan is xD.

Im considering mid march to early april it will give my autoflowers a chance to get in 2 or 3 crops (hopefully) but im letting my sativas go strong all the way to early november and im expecting them to be monsters though I hope no more than 12 feet, if anyone has an idea to stunt growth or make them grow out instead of up?

Something interesting I have in that prospective spot right behind my house is these pungent fast growing trees that have leaves very similar to sativa plants, they even have branches and trunks pretty much the same color though not the same texture. cant find the name of it but its white trunk grows bamboo fast with leaves that grow in rows on the branches leaves are burgundy toward the base of the branch and go to a nice sativa green the further up the branch it goes.

6 hours of direct sunlight? Hmm you could certainly get more than that. Also remember to grow on a south facing slope. Southerly exposure gets you the most light.

The only slope I have access to faces west. I would love to go find a nice grow spot afew hundred yards out that would get alot more sun with better water access but my little town has gotten big and now theres some 300 new suburban houses in my general area every year it sucks lol. But this grow is really just to get some decent mids and 100 or so seeds.

Im really interested in the blueberryxak47 autoflower on speedyseeds or whatever its called if any of you guys have an opinion on it.

Brick is still 95% of whats out here nowadays the only way dank can be obtained is a trip to the mountains or charlotte. But I think Nc has huge potential for outdoor grows when people stop buying that mexi-nonsense.

If your anyone around here your would be chip or kent neither of which is likely though lol, got some bad news though my dad is resolving to clear out the back hill and grow shit in my clearing. so I have to completely rethink my strategy ill post some pics of likely spots soon. Though going into the dark pines and clearing stuff seems a good idea fuckin spooky in them woods though.

My pics and those runoff channels scream dank imo. Soil is also virgen and like 12 inches of dark goodness before i hit red clay. And I do intend to cut down alot of those little 1yo trees im exspecting 8 hours direct sunlight minimum

There is around 20 of those runoff channels scattered everywhere and here is the spooky fuckin woods I might have to resort to.

From what I can tell im only gonna get 4-6 hours direct sunlight after I cut down all the little trees (the ones over 6in in diameter Have to stay :/ and ive decided to plant right in front of those spooky woods its on a hill and the pines are facing east to west right on the suns line Gonna try some hardy durban strain there and some autoflowers near my cantaloupe garden (hope 6 hours direct sun 8 hours indirect will let em do well. and I cant wait to see if that automaria really does get 350g a plant outdoors. It grows medium hieght so it seems believeable.

im from NC too. right in the heart of it. i hear ya on that though. it's just that so much of NC's pot smokers are poverty striken that they can only afford the mexi-schwag. It's not that they choose it. and your right NC has huge potential. think about it, we're on the same latitude as mid cali, just different coast. if we can get a lot of producers that will set lower prices, by lower prices i mean 3000 or less for a pound of dank, than maybe our poorer pot brothers can share the dankness.

i'm setting my prices for around 3200 a lb this year. on buds that could go for 6000.

One11 me and you need to get up and talk lol. I'd buy a pound from you right now, just for personal use. I live in the country outside the Raleigh area. I can get dank like Romulan (my fav), The Purps, Legends Ulimate Indica, Purple Widow, Sour D, etc. I just have to fork out $60 an eighth with NO discount if I buy in bulk. I'm friggin' tired of it.

I'm going to be growing as well. I've found a large piece of land with 8-10 ft baby pines. I should get pretty much full sunlight all day long. I'll be growing the Cheese and Trainwreck (all I've got). One of each. I've also got 2 auto-flowering plants to hopefully get a quick harvest and some weed to smoke on for free (auto pakistani and afghan kush). My friend is growing and I will probably be growing a clone or two from his plants (LA confidential Feminized will be a definiate). I also might grow a Jack the Ripper clone or a 3-D clone although they aren't feminized.

I just hope to get an 1-2 ounces off of the two autos to smoke on over the summer. Then hopefully get close to a lb off all my other plants. I hope that will have me set for a while.

NC growers UNITE!!

I lived in NC, Cary to be exact, for a few months and the weed situation there sucks!!! All I could find was bammer weed that made me so paranoid I actually started liking the high from a budweiser more than that crappy shit weed they were selling for 50 an 8th. Pressed brown yuk...so happy to be home in California where green flows heartily. Sorry guys in NC. I'm sure there was good weed there just I couldn't make the connect. Granny strikes out...with a swing and a miss..the crowd boos.....

I live in western NC, asheville area more specifically and I would say its much harder for me to find mid then it is dank. Anyway good luck on the grow, we have some great soil in these lands.
