sup guys,

looking for some recommendations on outdoor sativas that do well in the Northeast US or any other strains in general. Gotta be able to deal with the humidity and have good disease/pest resistance.

Im talking top shelf smoke here, post what you've had experience with.

True outdoor sativas don't do too well in the NE with the short season. I'm just talking about Mexican bagseed, but even if you wait til December, they still weren't that done.

Not much experience, but a bit - only grew once up there - the indicas were the way to go. They just did better in every respect.

A true sativa takes much to much time to mature. After 30 some years of outdoor grows I never plant pure sativa any more. Our frost are to early to let it mature. Plant a good cross or pure indica.

I suppose i should clarify Sativa DOMINANT strains. I agree there is no growing a 10-12 week pure sativa up here. Im just looking for some people experiences with strains that are sativa dominant and will finish in 7-10 weeks tops. I have personally grown Super Lemon Haze outdoors here with good results.

The northeast is a huge area and there could be 2 months or more difference in growing seasons. I'm assuming you need to harvest beginning october. I have done well with skunk strains. There is a strain called SMILE from Underground originals that i really liked for sativa traits. Also the good ole Durban from Dutch Passion finishes real quick and makes great daytime smoke. I've moved just south of the big apple in latitude and i started going for the 10-12 week strains and haven't had a problem finishing. This year i'm running Sage, Satori and some others.

im in NY @ about 44n.

Thinking about running c99 from female seeds although im not sure about what kind of mold resistance it has.

Not sativa but OG Kush from RP did great out here. almost 1lb plants, very little mold and great smoke. I will be running this again and may try out the OG #18.

I ran Maroc, Green Poison, hashberry and blue cheese last season as well. I will not run any of these outdoors this year.

Im also interested on any input requarding Subcools strains. I have been hearing good things about subcool but i want to run something that will work for this climate. High humidity is the biggest concern.

planting in the ground is convenient since most of the time you can just amend the soil, but if you put in the work of hauling a good soil mix to the right spot you can get some monsters. diy smart pots in the swamp works the best for me, just gotta run the right strain. heres one in a 50 gal container with no bottom placed right in the swamp.

42 north here also in ny. i grew the grimms originol cindy 99 and it was done before oct with great plants full of mind blowing buds. people called it mostly sativa me being no expert just knew it was one special plant. since then i have seen a few guys near me grow what they purchased as cindy but it never came close to the grimm seeds i bought. if you can find some close to grimms that is the plant you are looking for. i hear greenthumb has good cindy. i hate to recomend anything i haven't tried but that is one i do hear good things about.
tried durban from sensi and dutch passion both were straight crap 12' plants starting to bud when the snow started falling, even though they said oct finish.

i own a plantation in jamaica (born and raised) we do not grow indicas becuase they do not do well in our hot environments. indica was started in the mountains of nepal where its cool and not alot of sun. you can certainly grow a hybrid in new england or even more west you just really want to pay attention to your area let it speak to you

the originol cindy from grimm was the first plant to begin to bud the year i grew it. i only had 10 seeds and from them 3 were harvested females. i believe i lost another from loggers. but the plants were done by the end of sept and were mind blowing. i have never tried anyone elses cindy. i would like to but there are so many, and so many people say such differant things i'm afraid like many plants it's long gone and the new stuff is only cindyish like but not realy the same. i don't know though just speculation. maybe find a cindy cross or some good durban cross to satify your sativa needs? like everyone said we are limited in what sativas we can grow up here unless you are equiped with some blackouts and green house.
