hey hows it going ? this is my first indoor grow and I have a few simple questions soo far the plants are 6 weeks old and I germinated them and put them straight under a 400 watt hps light. they are between 8 and 11 inches tall and have 6 full sets of leaves. For my first question I was wondering when the best time to top my plants would be if it is even nesessary to top them atol ? .. also I was wondering about the fowering stage .. I have about 4 feet of usable space so i was hopeing to keep them kinda short thats where topping comes into my mind. and also either way what would be the best time to change my light cycle to 12/12 ? p.s. they also have alternating nodes.. anyways please get back to me asap that would be great thanks alot. plus any extra information for a noob would be great thanks....

If you haven't read that its pretty informative. But really you can top at anytime. I also top when they are young because I'm not that patient. And you really have to be prepared for the worst so when you flower you need to at least think that your plant is going to double in height. It can be less that though but thats just the general rule I go by.

looking good, top them after the third node to get 4 dominant colas, i have always found that the first two nodes never turn out dominant. or above the 4th or 5th node totally up to you, if you top them let the veg for another week then 12/12 them
i got a couple plants going that i topped to get 8 colas and then i lst'd the shit outta them.

i would go for more tops, top them after the 5th node and tie them down and you will have one large canopy of buds
check out my current grow you will see what i mean
