Need a second opinion on plant problem.

Hey guys, I originally started a post in newby central not realizing this was a better place to post. Also, I took a minute to get out my old school camera that would allow me to take better pictures of the problems. This is a DWC with the nutes at 950ppm for the second week. The ph is at 5.5. I was kind of thinking this may be nute burn but would really like a second opinion. This morning I changed out a few gallons of fresh water which dropped my nutes back to 625 and I am working on balancing the ph now (slow changes). A few of the pictures show new growth that is small and kind of deformed (This is on 3 of the plants). The last picture clearly shows the yellow spots, which at this time are only evident on two of the plants (there are six in this DWC). The reason I am doubting my diagnosis (besides being a newby) is all of the symptoms do not fit one category. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Too much n..clawing
Lower your ppm/ec slightly
Too much n will also cause calcium to fall out(the spots)

It would also help if you show the entire plant...mobile elements and such

Qwizoking, I have lowered my PPM to 625. Is that change enough or do I need to add something else to help the correction such as Cal/Mag?

Yeah, you may over driving them at 950 ppm. And you may be approaching lock out.

It will begin to present all the deficiencies. So, you can't fix lockout by chasing one Mineral then another.

If you don't get better growth at 650 ppm you may need some clearing of the system, flushing w/ 14 strength, etc.

This the guideline that seems to work for me. I never get to large plants. So, I never feed that high.

A general guideline for TDS levels is as follows:
seedlings = 50-150 ppm;
unrooted clones = 100-350 ppm;
small plants = 400-800 ppm;
large plants = 900-1800 ppm;
last week of flowering = taper off to 1/4 strength

I can't see that you have large plants. Large to me is at least 5 feet high and bushy.

Not to be argumentative but mag is one of those mobile nutes I was referring to...it shows in bottom leaves as yellowing between veins and early signs, leaves will "pray"....I didn't see any but a definite Cal def..I did want to see lower leaves to make sure it wasn't a calmag def as that's usually added by you..but with the clawing I suspect its simply falling out and you got plenty

I don't measure ppm so Idk I just judge plants reaction...but imo yea simply lowering ppm will solve your problems....I would also raise your humidity some but that's just by looks. What's it at?could just be from high ppm...you could foliar simple tap and fix your cal right quick with the light off and it will put some moisture back in your leaves
My 2¢

Thanks for the input guys. I have lowered my ppm to 625, and the ph is currently at 5.2 but it has only been an hour since I made the correction. Hoping this will correct the issues.:peace:

PH IS WAY TO LOW. 5.4 - 6.2, But 5.8 is perfect. Stay as close to this as possible and you'll have happy plants. I stay 5.6-6.0 and I check every night before bed. I run my nutes @ around 600-800 for the 2ns week & 1200ppm from week 3 of veg till the last week of flower. Calmag is a necessity for DWC.
This run Im adding Gravity to try it out. so the last 3 weeks I will back my ppm to 600ish
Good Luck!!!

5.2 is the very bottom. You have locked out Mg and P. Only drifting between a few pH can cover it all.

Doer, What you are saying in your post makes a lot of sense to me. You are correct on the size of my girls as they are about 26"-30" and I would consider them small plants. The PH stabilized at 5.7. The first reading at 5.2 was very soon after I had made the adjustment and had not fully equalized yet. Based on what you have shown me I would have to believe as you stated that I was approaching lock out. With just one day of correction I already see new growth that is not deformed. Thank you for you help..:peace:
