Need advice from Micro-grow experts.

Sup y'all, with all the great looking pics. out there of the covert micro-grows, I figured I may give it a go. My first question is, are intake and outtake fans essential. My spot will be out in a shed, in a box, and it is getting quite cold out. Is the outtake fans just to keep the area cool, or do I still need to have outside air flow?
I do plan on putting in some fans for movement, but I was just curious if I need to be cutting out holes in my material which is essentially an old hardwood cabinet. I plan on using CFLs in this. Any tips are much appreciated, thanks. BSG:leaf:

you will need some source of heat(probably, depends on location) for the dark hours
but one fan can work, i use a single pc case fan for a 78w grow chamber

So basically, the intake and outtake fans are used to control temperature? I'm not to worried about a heat source, I can figure that out. I was just wondering I needed to drill/cut out holes in the actual cabinet to mount fans.

combination of temperature control and ventilation, some fresh air intake is needed, how much may be a bit tricky to match to the fan setup
a dry run is a good idea, let the setup run over 24 hours with a cheap thermometer that records min/max temperature

Heating the shed isn't an option unfortunately. As for putting a heater in the box, possibly. It will be about 22'' h x 40''w x 18'' deep. Also, to power this, I was thinking of running an extension cord from a wall outlet, plugging a three-way 15-amp, extension into that. Then plugging two or three 6-plug surge protectors into that. Then running my lights, and a few small fans. Will this be an alright set-up? I figured so because all items will be of such small wattage? Please let me know if this is potentially dangerous though. Thanks y'all. Peace.

plants need four things to survive. Light... Water... Food... and AIR. to much of any can be harmful. but not enough is always harmful

for heat during the dark hours, you might be able to get by with jugs of water
water actually can store quite a bit of heat, and release it slowly
depends on how cold your area is, much safer than an electric heater
