Need advice. How long will a generator last?

Ya electric is cool and all and is making great strides but it's not there yet. Even a tesla loses what 20% battery at -10C? Tesla has a heater to heat up those batteries when its cold because they won't even work otherwise. I can kill a 5AH battery drill in a half hour if used really hard - 18V mind you. Point being, with batteries they have a very precise point in which they like to run and when run hard they do not last and they lose charge capacity each and every time they are run below optimal (typically 20-30%) although new batteries, such a tesla I believe is 5%.

Something like this
with this

PS. The alibaba is for information only. Don't buy from there if you don't know what your doing. It's like the dark web of products LOL
Thanks for the advice bro! Definitely a diesal set up needed I reckon. 7.5kwh and above would do the job.

As someone who has grown in less than ideal conditions I don’t think you are going to have a good time doing this.

- You won’t be able to remove humidity from the very humid air. This may be fine during veg but once you flower your buds are going to rot

-pests from the soil and mine shaft will be a huge problem you won’t be able to solve

-your temperature might be ok if your lamp is hot enough but it can definitely still be too hot. You won’t be able to hook up fans to blow out the hot air and bring fresh air in. Fresh air is just as important as temperature and humidity

Then there is the feasibility of it. As others mentioned, running a diesel generator for at least half the day for months is probably not going to work. You will be producing a ton of fumes, running a generator pretty much constantly, spending a fortune on diesel, and having to worry about the generator breaking down. Not to mention the environmental Harm running a diesel generator for months causes.

If I were you I would just wait until the opportunity to grow is better. Hopefully you will have an indoor space to grow relatively soon. Idk how expensive pot is in the UK but you would be better off buying. You will never get a decent amount of pot worth the money you spend on a generator and diesel. Any pot you do grow will probably be pretty shitty considering where it is growing.

I understand wanting to make a project work but the reality of this is against you. Why don’t you try an outdoor grow instead? I just watched a vice doc about guys from the Uk growing pot outdoors in the area between highways. I’m sure there are lists of strains good for your specific climate. You can always make some short of partial shelter for the plant on days the weather is bad. If it’s sunny enough you could even make a simple greenhouse. Plenty of people grow outside in the Uk you can too

You're almost right. Grown man moved back into the family home. Its more a case of I dont want to bring trouble to the family house. The running costs on charging batterys/generators is fine.
Pretty much its a home made mine shaft in woods yeah. There must surely be something out there that will run 1 600w light for 8/9hours per charge. Even if I bought 2 whole generators. The cost for them would definitely be paid back after 2 crops, then the rest would just be recharge costs, that i can get for free.
Off the top of my head.

Gasoline generators last about 500-2500 hours until an overhaul or replacement.
Diesels can last 15000-50000 hours before overhauling is needed.
Diesels are expensive to purchase
They're both loud
Gasoline generators are very inefficient compared to a diesel gen set on a fuel to watt basis.
However, prime duty diesel generator size starts at about 6000 watts and diesel generators must be run under load or else the valves will wet stack and shorten the lifespan of the engine.

Please don’t lie this is physically impossible your friend isn’t pulling over 3 grams per watt with an incredibly inefficient light with no veg time.
To be fair, it is spread over 2 grow tents, but he says he uses 120w and 250w halogen for each stage, and I've seen the results.. I wouldn't lie to people i dont know for absolutely no reason whatsoever/no gain etc. But fair enough, maybe asking the wrong person for advice.

Thanks for the advice mate. I personally just cant get over the fact people have done grows in storage containers/dams/buses/caves/anywhere that is anywhere etc, but people seem to think it would be almost impossible for me to do the same thing.
I'm not sure I really giving people the best idea of what I'm working with. For example I could take time and literally build walls/roof underneath the ground, and have a fully secured underground room/no bugs etc.
As for generator lasting long, if I got a high powered say 7.5kwh diesel, I'm sure it would be ok running 2/3 1000w lights off it for 18hours a day for just 2 months, and the yield I could get would cover the cost of all equipment and running costs pretty easily. In reality i could grow 40/50 autos from 3000w could i not? and then at worse id be looking at 600grams or something.. which would still cover costs.
