Need advice on Dinafem Cheese

Depends on a few variables, first is Size of grow space , then Lighting and Ventilation.

for instance I have a 6' tent so my light hangs down a foot.

If I grow a plant bigger than two feet in Veg It will over grow my tent.

So In a 6" Rock wool cube I can support a 1.5 ft plant that will stretch by something like a Foot in Flower.

That leaves a buffer space of 9-12 inches between my 400 watt HPS light and the plant tops.

As stated by dogenzengi, it depends on a lot. The longer you veg, the bigger the plant and yield. I personally just veg my plants for 2-3 weeks tops. Some people wait for pre flowers. I never have. The only thing about flowering before preflowers is you might need to help the plant get the ball rolling. I usually find going from my veg light schedule to 24-36 hours darkness then straight to 11/13 gets the job done. See pistils in 1-2 weeks.

12/12 is good if your plant is ready for flower, 11/13 just gives them that extra push i feel if they are a little premature.

Thanks for the replies! :)

-I have 4' foot vertical grow space.
-DWC
-Growing with a Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar 135 LED

The seed popped 2.5 weeks ago, when do you think I should switch to 12/12 lights?

Can we see a pic perhaps? A lot(or a little) couldve happened in 2.5 weeks. Usually from seed popping, I start flowering after week 4-5. So depending on how well you have your grow dialed, and accounting for the faster hydro growth rates maybe 2 weeks. With 4 ft. of vert, I would plan on some form of lst if you havent yet.

Don't know LED, what's the minimum distance to the plant?

add the minimum distance allowed to your bucket height, the difference is the space for a growing plant.

bucket 1.5' tall
hold off from light (call it 1.5')
thats three feet, in a 6 foot tent you have three feet of grow space.

I don't know if you can fit DWC and LED in a 4' high spot.

i actually had the same problem, exactly.

I abandoned the DWC and HPS, the space was 42" high.

I changed to a tall closet, ebb n flow, and a Tent to Flower.

I thought I was going to wedge it all in a crawl space, it just wasn't happening in that format.

T5 and soil or Hempy will just barely fit in that height and that's with plant bondage, at least in my limited experience.
I decided I didn't want to crawl to grow....

So, start flower in 2 weeks?

"I would plan on some form of lst if you havent yet."

What is "lst"?

Thanks Dogenzengi!
3.5 feet between bucket top and light at the ceiling. LED is suppose to be 12 inches from plant.
So that would be 2.5 vertical space.

Cut and pasted from Dinafem,

Cheese is intense, long-lasting and aromatically Indica taste of cheese, something similar to a strong, well-cured, vintage cheese.

It produces a well-balanced effect, a physical and cerebral mixture.

it has been included among the Top Ten by all the coffee-shops in Amsterdam .
Numerous awards in the High Times Cannabis Cup.
Tens of thousands of “Brits” crazy about this variety.
Its aspect is languid, with long outstretched leaves and slim stalks, an heirloom from its skunk ancestry.

The flowers it produces are thick and plentiful and, when exposed to the adequate low temperatures, obtain a light violet colour.

It can be classified as a highly commercial variety, comparable to Big Bud, Skunk#1, Power Plant, or Critical+

Cheese is a heavy yielders, quick and compact.

This strain captivates everyone that has the opportunity to try it!

Mild taste, medium effect and the overall pleasant feeling it produces.

Taste of cheese.
Easy to grow.
Mild effect.
CBD: normal
Production: 200-500 gr

NICE STRAIN!!

Awesome is what it is.

Its all about an even canopy, or top of your plant. Lst is the general term for Low Stress Training. For me, i take the highest part of the plant and bend the top of it down to where its even with the lower branches, or a little below. This allows your lower branches(soon to be laden with bud) to recieve the light that only the very top of your plant would normally see and reach for it. So instead of one main head, you end up with multiple.

A couple of plants that I first Fimmed, then I proceeded to tie down each branch to the side of my pots. I have about 5-6 heads on each. Here they are 4 weeks from seed. 1 week into flowering. Since then Ive had at least 4 more shoots pop up on each plant so yea, its awesome:)

Thanks for the info about low stress training (LST)! Great looking plants you have there! ;)
I was reading online and I was planning to "top" after the 3rd set of leaves (3rd node?).

1) Is it advisable to Top and Bend?
2) How many times should you Top?

Look at the Thread on Uncle Bens topping technique.
I have not done it myself but I have read dozens of threads a journals of happy users.
it creates 2 pairs of tops so four main colas for you to slowly Pull out and Down.
By 60 days in veg you will have a 6 inch tall 15-25 top beast.

Thats what my first grow did, I tied the plant down and kept pulling it down and out.
I FMed at 4 node.
7 ounces dry, I plant.

You are off to a good start Randy.....good data here.

At 4' you must control the height of the plant.

One thing that I did not see here is the stretch factor
that this breed is known to have.

ie. I am growing The Dog which has a stretch as large
as the 3-4X range. This means that a plant as short as
a foot might eat up all of your space, given the height of
the container and the space that the light will take up.

Confirm the stretch of D's Cheese and plan ahead. Bending
tops over is pretty much all you can do if you find that
you have misjudged this factor.

Good luck,

JD

P.S. Note that when I say "as short as a foot" I mean "as short
as a foot, when flipped to 12/12 to flower"

I stay at 11/13. Extra hour of darkness ensures that my plants are getting enough rest to get to flowering. And mimics nature better as well. The sun aint on a 12/12 timer now is it? With this grow im gonna plan on going down to 10/14 the last 2-3 weeks of flower. In theory, it should help my flowers ripen up a bit faster. Im on a tight schedule with this grow. I have exactly 8 weeks till I need to chop my gals. So they are coming down when they have to and anything to ensure Ill have a substantial end product is worth a shot.
