Need advice outfitting 40 foot shipping container

So SWIM has a 40' shipping container that they are going to turn into a grow room. SWIM was looking for some ideas/tips on how to run power to the unit, and any advice/preferences on insulating. SWIM will be running 3 600w HPS and 1 600 MH.......GO!!!!
 
.......well, let SWIM know he really needs to think 'down the road' when it comes to 'power.' SWIM can run a hell of a lot more than 4x600 in there and go into it thinking that way---so you dont end up redoing it all down the road.... Most definately make sure to get the right advice if you cant hire it out to a pro on the electrical.
Options to set them up are endless...literally. You need to think what it is you want to accomplish, and how often....numbers on plants? Are you under a limit??---> or totally free stealth......wishin' I still was this legal shit is a joke! How many rooms do you want in there and do you plan to dry and everything there or.....and oh yeah, SWIM, lol... well, tell swim to get himself an account and that way you dont have to ask all of this for him:lol:, with your first post and all. I mean really, swim might just as well only use his 4 lights and get all he requires, and still have half the thing left for a Man Cave!:mrgreen:

Gonna go soil or hydro? Is the inside of that thing wood ribbed?--->or can you screw like 1x2's somewhere to the sides for panels/insulation/whatever you go with? ----and down the center of the lid. I am sure there are some examples on here if you try the search.....probably guys that have great tips growing in one of those exact units. I got a 20' and never set it up......
 
You say nothing about your weather or environment. The corrugation of the exterior makes insulating with sheet styrofoam a snap.
 
No there isn't any wooden framing in it but the plan so far is to outfit the inside with framing and drywall along with some form of insulation and enough outlets to supply power to the lights and fans and what have you

Limit is 45 plants and it's in western Washington so hot summers cold/wet winters. Luckily the thing has about. 3inches of moss on top so summers should be less of a hassle
 
I have heard good things about spray insulation but its expensive those are little heat boxes.,. thought about ventalation and ac yet??
 
OK enough of this swim crap lol. Yeah I plan on cutting a 6 inch hole for the ducting with a 6'' inline duct fan for exhaust/intake

I ran a semi burried 48 foot container I have floor plans somewhere I can dig up if interested. Build walls standard for any room studs just need to be for drywall 18" to 24" apart run fiberglass exterior wall insulation build a roof like the walls.
 
Thanks Adam that would be much appreciated. One of my main questions is if there would be an issue with moisture from condensation forming in the corrugated section where the insulation isn't flush between both the container wall and the new interior structure. Also the easiest way to run power to the thing without burning it down.

And to trolls: please realize I am doing this to provide myself and a few other patients who I care about dearly with quality medicine. So if you must give grief please do it elsewhere

Trolls?? Yeah, hopefully referring to me, haha! Cool, and yah got some help today. I had to be an advocate all day today in seattle for 'our' 45 plant limits(that wont be for long if your not paying attn) that is getting ripped from under us.....another story, sorry for the politics, but I wasn't trolling your thread or questioning your #'s etc....could give a rip less...

But yeah, you get it framed like a room and it's not much different.

lol i wasn't referring to you specifically GMAN. i have signed up for a few other forums recently and there are a lot of assholes on the internet. Figured id put out that fire before it started here
 
if you seal your room moist air wont come in contact with the steel walls to form condisation. for electiacal i ran a main disconect out side of container with a main pannel inside. ran conduit on walls for all circuits. when i rebuilt i put sub pannels in each room. some things i noticed while building if in direct sunlight interior temps can be 20 to 30 % higher than ambiaint air temps. insulateing will help but cuting the heat sorce will help more set container in shady area or create a canapy with a shade cloth. i had the means to partialy bury mine so i did.
 
So I just found out that the wood floor in the shipping container releases toxic vapors into the container. Gotta change the floor now! FUCK
