thats how i do it. i clone n veg under a 150w hps while i am flowering. keep them in small pots n they get about 2 ft tall by the time its their turn to flower
so you take clones just before you turn then plants over to flower.
2 weeks to root the clones and 6 weeks in veg, sound good but where do you dry the buds ?

yea thats how I do it. I hang it in my bathroom. I have two so no one goes in the one with the hanging weed

good ideal but your bathroom must stink anless you have a carbon filter/fan setup to cause negative pressure

Most bathrooms have extractor fans dont they. Although i bet it would stink outside your house lol. With regards to the plants getting too large in the 8 week period of cloning/vegging, the plants will only grow to the size the container they are in will allow wont they? So im gona have 12 of em in my veg room and keep em in small 1 litre pots for 8 weeks, top em when i need to, and they should in theory get super bushy and short and dense so when i stick em in the flower tent they will explode with new growth for the first week or so whilst they start to bud?

The last thing you want is to extract all the smell outside even if its a legal grow,

If you root the plants before you flower the ones in veg, you have a min of 8 weeks in veg, in that time the plant will grow tall even in small pots, could get root bound
and the shoots will strech, trying to keep a plants short for 8 weeks in veg is possible but it is very diffecult

look at this pic i found on google

IMG_20151108_095609.jpg its not that hard really, I do it all the time. the cups are twice as big as the pot you want to keep them in for the 8 wks.

The plants in the cups in the pic only look about 2 ft tall which is about as tall as my clones get in 8 weeks. my plants dont stretch during veg and fill in quite nice once their put into the flower room. I usually have to veg them for a couple weeks in the flower room cuz I dont flip 12/12 till the plants are 3ft tall.

the strain I grow doesnt have a really potant smell. my flower room is next to my bathroom, I vent it out the bathroom vent without a scrubber in the summer months and vent it into the bathroom during winter months.

The inside of my house smells like weed most.of the time anyway so hanging them in the bathroom and having them smell is no biggie. you dont have to.go by what everyone on a forum says, you have to do what works for you.

part cups are about 450ml, so you keep your plants in pots 225ml ( 1/4 ltr pot for 8 weeks ) pot the same size as a cup
the roots are going to be rootbound,

The only reason to have plants 3ft tall in veg is if you grow vertcal, 3ft plants in veg may hit 4ft or more in flower, whats the point, the good buds only grow on the top 12" of the plant, anless your growing under 1000w hps, and then with a 4ft plant you need the light 2-3 ft above the canopy, don't know many growers with 8ft ceiling

and the op is growing in a tent, so your advice is to grow a plant so it could be 4-5 ft tall in flower ( just don't see how this would help the op )

you may be growing somewhere that you can vent the odor outside, but if the op growing in a high risk area he could be court in a few days, so again not helpfull advice

your right you dont have to go by what everyone on a forum says but keeping your grow hidden is the most important thing, once it gets around you grow weed ( drying weed smells different to smoking weed) you are at high risk of getting robbed or raided (if its not a legal grow) and often need to move before growing again.

EDIT you plant do look great and i am sure you hit a high yeild in your setup

Jacksthc what do you suggest i do then to avoid the overgrowth of 8 weeks in veg (6 weeks if you dont count the two weeks of cuttings rooting out)? This is the only way i was planning on doing it. Its either this or start afresh using one tent and have at least one less grow every year....

you could get a plant starter kit like the one I got this pot out of. its 3/4 the size of a party cup (obviously).

The kit contains roughly 10 of these in a bottom try that would fit in a 2 1/2' x 2 1/2' area such as ur veg space.
Take your clones right before flowering, or even a week after flowering to give ya one less week in veg.

depending on your strain, the clones should only get about 2ft tall. So, now that the clones grew for 5-6 weeks (after rooting) and are 2ft tall (dependant on strain of weed) you can stick them in the flower room. My plants typically put on a foot in height during flower (yours might grow more, it all depends on the strain you have). that puts ya at 3 feet after the flowering stretch.

most tents are 6ft tall, get rid of a foot for the light and that gives you 2ft between the light and the top of the plant which is plenty of room if your useing an air cooled hood. If your not, than thats probably not enough room. personally my plants are usually about 1 1/2 ft away from my two 600w lights and they survive.

you have to experiment and see how things go. If things get to hot figure out better cooling. If other problems arise, try to figure it out. your never going to know untill you just do it.

Just an FYI my veg space is the size of an average tote (size of my cloner) and about 4 ft between the table top and 150w light and I have usually 8 clones going just incase some dont make it.

good luck to you. do it how ever you want, this is just my take on the process.

I do appreciate the info lads, but im well aquainted with the basics of growing ive done it for years :-D but thanks lol. I was really only asking about the perpetual timing thats all. Il just keep them short in the the cupboard for 8 weeks by lst or keep topping em, that way theyll never ger more than 18 inches. Which is always my maximum for flowering as they always at least double in height.

keep removing the larger fan leaves for the 6 weeks and the plants will have loads of strong level shoots in flower

have a look at my grow diary

topping, lst will help to keep you plants short for 4-5 weeks and you may be able to keep them under 12" for 6 weeks but the problem is they can grow very wide

if you where growing under 4ft t5's you could let them grow 18" high and supper crop them, done it a few times but imo its hit and miss

another option is you could grow one plant, top 2-3 times and pull the sides down so if fill the space in the cupboard very wide and only 6" high

veg for a week in the flower room and put a screen over the plant, pull the shoots down and fill the screen for the next week in flower

there lots of diffent ways you can pull this off, good job you have been growing for years
