Very nice dude! can you draw me a picture of how to cut the clone before putting it in the cloner?
I think you would cut right underneath the node(branches) then just trim the branches or leaves off at that node and the roots should come out of that node area, I would guess?

looks like greengenius got you good set of pic's to go by. My cuttings have been much smaller. My buddy keeps telling me to use bigger cuttings. Think I'll go do 2 more larger cuts and add them to the cloner. see how they do.

I have found that you want to have at least 3 to 5 nodes when cutting for a clone. the two on the bottom are to be cut back to the branch area where the node comes out---better chance of roots coming in there. The cloner you have is nice I would shoot the top white to reflect your light. Flat white has a great reflection I think like 88%? get a small 18 watt under counter light with a 5-6500 color 24/7 is best for clones and roots --- dim lights are better then a bright room too much photosynth going on with brite light. Put the whole unit in a box or the likes of and you have over come your area to use your cloner. 12/12 is for flowering even a 14/10 will allow some strains to flower----I use 24/7 and in 10 days you will be T-planting into pete moss as it is nio food and 5 ph and there you can gently feed her and have her become a 4 foot bush from a 5 node clone.

Just curious too what some advantages would be too taking bigger cuttings like greengenious's?
MJ bible says best to use the smaller bottom ones as they have not built up so much veg hormones and revert to rooting easily. I read the bigger ones on top take longer but will come around. My thought is to use anything that is not making it around the bend or pitch of the bottom of the plant. if it's top is not past the fat bottom of the plant to get direct light might as well clone it and give it's own pot and light source

I'm using taller clones for SOG but still get away with great bushes after topping.
My large thicker cuttings almost always root first. They come out strong and profuse in about 8 days on a heat mat Al B style.
You can still top 8" tall clones as long as the stem is fat... and if it isn't I'll cut it down to the lowest node it has which might be 3" from the cube. I always leave growth on the clone for those cases. With thicker stems it becomes a trunk almost instantly.
I have a whole room of pre98 with 8" tall clones topped twice. I use the same size clones for my mother room too. None of them have fallen over ever.
I'll shoot some pics of the bushes to illustrate how much of a difference thick clones make.

I have this going right now. Yes you can take clone off of a flowering plant (mine was 1 and half weeks into flower ) I took 2 off of my female sense 2 of 4 where male . they take a little wile make sure you have a humidity dome over it . i took a golf tea stuck in the soil and placed the cutting in the soil 2 inches down make sure to have your rooting hormones on and push the dirt in around it place you humidity dome over it. also make sure your soil is wet befor you put the clone in dont want to wash away the rooting by watering it

I dont have my camera with me so previous examples are all I got. I'll snap pics of the flowering room on picture wednesday, which is when I usually observer progress.

These pics illustrate what thick clones healthy roots and a couple rounds of topping can do for your veg room or mother tray.
