Need experienced grower's review (first time grower)

I have a 7 week old Sativa plant and I was just wondering about some new growth that has occurred. It started recently when I found a way to keep it lit 24 hours a day for 2 days (I had to stop because I probably would have gotten caught). I just want someone with experience in growing to help me understand what they are and if it would be ok (or even a good idea, for that matter) to trim the leaves they're near (bottom 3 leaf branches only, sorry for all the parentheses). Any help is appreciated

Hey what's up man... I'm not an experienced grower.. but ill try to help... why do you want to trim your plants? your plant need all those leaves right now man... don't trim anything there is no need for trimming... it's just going to make the growth slower... that looks like new growth to me.. also it looks like you are over watering a little bit your plant on that last pic... before your next watering make sure the soil is dry... over watering can kill the plant if continued.

Oh, and if the plant isn't auto in order to induce flowering you have to change the day/night time to 12/12 for better results.

It appears that the 1st pic is just new growth coming out. (new leaves) you should also get a closer pic to make sure, are your seeds fem?
Second pic it looks like your over watering.

Do not trim any leaves as well! Keep your light cycle to 18/6 and you should be good.

Thanks, both of you. I have some follow up questions lol... Does it matter at what age I try to induce flowering (it's 7 weeks into veg from sprout)? Is there an optimum time/size or is it mostly dependent upon the plant and its conditions?

at every node a new stem will come out. thats what that is. you will know when its budding when you see silky white hair comming out of pistals. dont trim your plant just top it. pull the top of the plant off just above the 4th or 5th node so the side branches have a chance to catch up to the top of the plant. you dont have to top if you dont want to it will stress the plant a little but its better to train your plant that way.

If you put your finger in the soil to the second knuckle and feel moisture hold off watering. Also what kind of light are you using? I would also suggest filling your the rest of the way with soil or transplanting into a bigger pot. I have found the more soil I use (pot size) it is easier to regulate moisture control and the plant will use it. Don't worry about the new growth that is what the buds will develop on (if its female).

Thanks man. I just read a little on topping, but if I posted a picture could you tell me from where to snip it? Or whatever method would be best for mah plant.

I wouldn't top it just yet the plant looks stressed to me IMO, make sure you don't love it to death. When I say love it to death I mean for example: in my first grow I had one of my ladies hermy from just to much attention. I was so focussed on hitting a home run I didn't give her time to do her thing and simply grow. Then I took a more relaxed approach and just let her do her thing and it payed off.

Lol thanks dude(s). I need this plant to remain relatively small and my resources are VERY limited. I'm using one 13 watt 2700k CFL, unknown but decent soil, some Medina Hasta Gro 6-12-6 plant food (might be local lol) and a 11.3 oz Folgers coffee container (I will upgrade if possible). If I need this plant to be discreet and have no desperate need for massive amounts of bud, when should I try to induce flowering? I'll send a pic with some size reference in a sec

If there is no way to get extra lighting at the moment then I would get the top of that thing like 4 inches from the light. This will help to promote more of a stocky structure. Really need to get some more cfls on that thing or I'm afraid it will be a waste of your time.

Those circles are new branches coming out, I wouldn't worry about topping your plant, but rather LST'ing her. She's got some stretch going on, so DEF get more lights!! since your using CFL's, shoot for 100 - 150 ACTUAL watts for her. That's why she's so small and lanky for 7 weeks old. LST'ing will also help you distribute your light better if you can't get enough on her atm. And get the 2700K off her and get a 6500K bulb, 2700K is for flowering. You want her to veg out and get some good foliage going for her flowering state.
