You have bad biological matter...try aquashield and keep your res cooler with ice bottles if necessary. I had the exact same issue but at the start of veg and now I have 4 monsterous plants...you may need extra recovery time but it works. I used peroxide to cleanse the roots, then rinse good before changing back to res. Clean res and airsatone every week if you must. Your res looks darker than mine, but that might be your nutes or volume of nutes.

1) dump your rez, 2) clean you rez with bleach. 3) use water only with a ph of 6.0 4) use some H2o2 if you buy the 3% use alot ( a squirt or two).. if you get the 35% use a few drops.. but it looks like slime and bad bio... look at those big rotten death bubbles.. Freash water DAILY,, dont worry about NUts,, you plant wont make it... FRESH water... 6.0 . H2o2 and hope for the best... 2 weeks you should know.

Welcome to the club.

I have had root rot problems in my systems for a few months. You need to use 35% hydrogen peroxide, 2 ml per gallon, per day, for a week, then lower it to 1-2 ml per gallon per day the rest of the grow. Just remember 5 ml - 1 teaspoon. First you need to scrub out your system with bleach water. Do not let you bottoms of your pots touch the solution once you have hanging roots. There should be an inch of space between the bottom of the pot and the solution. Your rot is not totally advanced YET.

I am so sick of dealing with root rot that I am trying biological cure. That is what the 'aquashield' the other guy suggested is.

This is why I don't like DWC. Way to prone to this prob. In that first pic your water looks pretty foamy. Deff. need to chg. water. Some go the bennies route. Personally I like H202 and a lot of it for bad probs which looks like you have. Your local Hydro store should carry it.
Or loose the dwc get yourself a small flood tray and get away from that ongoing headache.
No offense intended.

Thanks for the tip joe! Im actually thinking of trying out the h202 and if it continues I wanted to switch over to flood and drain :weed:
Any advice on pointing me on the right path??

F&D is like the easiest system in hydro to maintain. I use 5" pots with hydroton. Flood just under halfway up the pot 1-2x per day. Depending on how hot my room is. I like to get my gurls to 13-15" tall b4 flip. I run Sog tho so No side branching.

Prolly the best advice I can give is make sure your tray fills and drains swiftly, and there is no standing water left in bottom. The larger the water pump the better. I use a 1/4hp sump pump to fill two 2x8 trays. It takes about 8 min. to fill and 10 to drain.I also put venturis on my fill lines to give supreme aeration to my flood. Aeration is also great to add to your rez also it helps to keep any funk down and keeps your nutes mixed up. so keep your bubblers.:bigjoint: And like in any hydro keep that light out of your rez. Chg. wtr every 2 weeks. If you switch I will guarantee you will be happier.

I do sog my height doesn't really apply to a cab gro. I suppose if I were in a cab and wanted to do F&D I would top em, maybe scrog(never tried it tho) or possibly LST. I'm sure rez temps would get pretty high in a cab tho. Excessively high rez temps are problematic no matter what hydro sys. you try. Just less of an issue in F&D. I would try to get the rez out of the cab somehow. This will also give you more height to flower. :joint: You can do a lot with pumps and solenoids.

Ebb/Flow systems are so forgiving I will never grow any other way now. I use rockwool slabs and cubes, no muss no fuss. I manually water instead of using pumps, but you can do either. My 3 foot slabs get cut into three and used that way in a rubbemraid conntainer. Easy/pezy., under a 600 watter one plant will put out 14-21 zips.

I have a table set up diy style that cost about 100 bucks minus lighting mind you that was built for a closet grow but can be expanded upon to encompass your size of room.

Good luck and pm me if your intrested in more info.

I let my dwc go 14-17 days in between changes and I do nothing for temp control yet I have not had a root issue ever. That's a good testament for aquashield and pondzyme.

Congrats bro. I hope your good results continue.

My main prob. with DWC is that Plants that evolved to grow in dry land do not benefit from being immersed in water continuously. Our crops obviously fall into this category. This characteristic is offset in DWC by adding bubblers, bennies, h202 etc. and yes it can work and be productive. You are always walking a fine line tho between a healthy rez. and the funk.

I am glad that you are producing from your system, as that is what we are all here for.

May I ask how long you have been using it?

What are your avg. rm. temps?

What strains are you running?

I am considering starting a thread on strains and water immersion tolerance.

I started growing dwc about 6 years ago. Room temps are 84 lights on, 68 lights off. I have had 50-60 strains and try to keep 8-13 different strains at all times. Out of my last 100+ harvests(not plants) in aero and dwc i have seen nothing but huge healthy roots from clone to harvest and i no longer have my chiller going.
