Need Help Choosing A Dehumidifier

Yo yo everybody I need some input..

My flowering room is running about 70 percent humidity at the moment so Im looking for a dehumidifier. I have virtually no experience with these appliances so Im wondering which one would be best for growing. Is it possible to find one that I can program to only turn on when I need it (i.e. when it goes over 50 percent humidity)?

Thanks errbody - T

i bought the wood's dehumidifier made in canada, very heavy duty, never did any maintenance to it has been running for years now, it has a setting you can set how dry you need the room to be. there are several sizes, mine is 250watts cost me like 250$ at the time. it depends on room size but mine could dry up a room with 2kw light. the dry mode on A/C works for smaller rooms. don't use the water that comes from dehumidifier, its the nastiest shit on roots cuz of residues on the coils. without dehumidifier i would get mold consistently on big buds, however i dont run it before 5 weeks into flowering, and i run it on max for the rest of the grow. if buds are big enough, you need RH less than 50. ive seen mold in buds at 50% RH even with oscilating fans...

thanks zem, good to know about the residual water as i probably woulda watered my girls with it haha. By the way my flower room is 10 x 10 feet so whats the pint capacity I should get?

Thanks cowboylogic but my room temps are okay, i just need a dehumidifier not an air conditioner. Are you saying they make ac units with dehumidifiers on them?... and zem to answer your question i have a 400 watt MH and a400 watt HPS, i know i know its not much but im gonna upgrade soon once i chop down the crop thats growing right now. And Im wondering if dehumidifiers give off any heat??

i have 2 400's as well, it's not that small, but you don't need the 10x10. you will have better climate control if you shrink your flower room to the right size for the lights like area of 3x5 or so, dehumidifier will be able to better dehumidify that space. and yeah dehumidifiers give off heat, i just place the whole unit out make a vent opening for it to push dry air into the flower box, the motor itself is what gets hot not the air it gives

its a basement so the climate is fine, even in the summer... except for the damn humidity! thanks though this all helps a great deal.. Ill try to put up some pics of my room once its set up
