Need help CLEANING Grow Room Walls

So what the heck to I clean my walls with? I want to use just some bleach with hot water and a rag but I think I read somewhere that bleach leaves a residue that is toxic for plants. Should I just use H202?

Suggestions?


Oh yeah....my walls are covered with Panda Film...if that helps

Soak the rag in hot water with a tiny bit of dish soap. Wring it out and use it to wipe down the panda film top to bottom.

Spray Simple Green on the panda film according to the amount of soil as you wipe. This combo is quick and effective. Bleach doesn't kill powdery mildew; water does.

Overkill. It's still the best way to be sure. And that's why it's sound advice.

You're in AK right? I'm interested in the indoor climate of a home that far north in deepest winter. I hear stories about problems with excess RH issues and I always prefer to hear a first hand perspective to separate hearsay from reality.

sugar soap bro sugar soap all i use and been useing it for years that or peroxcide

It honestly depends on your location.
I've lived in the interior of Ak - it hit neg 73 deg (unofficial, very small town) so cold a car won't start without a shot ether in the intake.
The humidity in the house was nil, chairs & wooden furniture all gets loose.
But I didn't grow then so I can't give experienced advice there.

Maybe it depends on how the house is heated. If there isn't any air exchange with the outside I could see how RH would get out of control. The situation you describe is much like mine right now; lots of air exchange with a cold outdoors makes for nosebleed conditions indoors.

That was then - this is now.
I live where it is relatively warm (for AK) but with very high humidity - we've got snow on the ground & it's raining.
But I also have a very well insulated/sealed house with dedicated Intake/outtake vents for the important bits.
One must just pay attention to the details - after that it gets somewhat easier. :cool:

I'm upgrading, even as we type. It's a painfully slow process to complete but it will be well worthwhile when it's finished.

A 80/20 mix of water and white vinegar is good. Very effective for killing bacteria and mold that might be lurking near
