Need Help! Determine What I am as I Grow Up?

Hello RIU. I'm Sprout. i ll give you a little background.
my loving dad, had put me away back in 1982/83. Hes getting a bit old, but is 100% positive i am one of possibly 2 lovely old skool "PUT YOUR DICK IN THE DIRT" Refer.

so I am either

1. a late 70s early 80s Columbian Gold taken from a Stamped 2.2 kilo brick Or

2. an Early 80s Hawaian Blue that produced couch lock for 2 hrs or so.

But we are not sure what I am. So I am hoping some of RIU Old Timers can help me determine my heritage. After all, im only 19 hrs old right now, but ive been waiting for about 30 years to make my appearance.

MY dad wants me to grow up in a loving place. but he is wondering if i would be better suited to be a male and give up possibly 30 yr old pure pollen, or would i be better suited to be a big ol healthy slut and give off pups for years.

So im kind of leaving my life in a small amount up to you RIU old timers.
once i decide what i want to be when i grow up, i ll be looking for advice to be all i can be.

Anyways, i ll show a few pics of myself since i popped up this am, and getting comfy in my new existance.

this am at 10am, 24 hrs after i was grounded.

Kicked my shell off. Boy it feels GREAT to get a nice stretch after 30is yrs as a bean.



so thats how my first 36 hrs have been. Im Excited to meet you folks. and hope you can help me grow up to Be all I can Be.

just so you know, i was drown in a shot glass, then stuck in a paper towel in a warm place for a night, the next morning, my dad got up and grounded me in this bit of excess peat, and i wasnt even bad yet.. i have 2 peat pots next to me holding 2 week old beans of 2 of my brothers or sisters, but they didnt want to come up and live i guess. Dad says hes really surpised i popped out to grow.

im going to sleep in a couple hrs. every new seedling needs his 6 hrs of good rest every night to grow up healthy.

by memory i think this will be the Gold. the HB seeds were lighter in color. i put one of each in the peat, and im pretty sure its the Gold that sprouted. but im not positive.

The weed I smoked inthe late 70's to about 1982 was mostly Columbian Gold. Every now and then Alcapuco Gold, Panama Red and Hawaiian. If your seed is from back then and your from the US ( I grew up on the East Coast) then it's probably one of those landraces. Surprised it's stiil germed. Good luck

thanx. heres a pic of my "time capsule" and a shot of my last 3 roomies. (SHHH Dont say anything.. but i think they are crazy, they said they were from this place out in the ocean, and said they are blue. i think they are smoking wacky tabacky personally).

can do, ty. here is a shot from 11am today. this would be 73.5 hrs after the first pop up, and 85.5 hrs after grounding.

you better get that stretch in check. other than that, i too am surprised there was juice still in those beans. gratz man

after the initial jump on day 2, last night it only went 1/4, maybe 1/3rd inch thru the night. today, it doesnt appear to be doing much up top, which is a great sign, as it means tonight during the 6hrs of dark, i ll get some serious root development.

going to start mixing up some dirt for a bigger pot, its time for its own place.

ok, i head out in the am for 4 days for work, wont be back till thrus night, or friday.

so it was time to move Sprout

Took a bag of FF Happy Frog, poured into apale. added about 1/4 of what i had in HF of vermiculite to the HH, to thin it up just a bit, and mixed well. took a sytrofoam cup, put holes in bottom and sides, put drian traps on bottom ring, found a small tubberware dish to set it in. Filled the cup with my HF/Vermic mix, and flushed it with straigt water a couple times to drain it out a bit to temper the HF down a smidge. Got the cam ready, and put a hole in the filled cup for Sprout to go to.

not sure if i should of done this, but when moving from the jiffy tray, it was pretty loose with the peat around it, so i just picked it up gently out of the peat and put it into the cup, and gently pushed the dirt so it would fill in around Sprout. i put the stem about 1/4 to 1/2 inch lower into the dirt that is was when in the jiffy tray. just before i put it into the new cup. i snapped a quick pic as i dropped it into the cup, showing some of the root base, and its size compared to the rest of the plant.

i didnt want to trust it in the peat for 4 days to be ok wihtout me here. so figured it was now or never with the transplant.

id have to say rooting is great. twice as much root structure than actual plant.



set in cup and lightly fluffed


settled in and in the new Home Sweet Home, for a week or two, then its off to the new digs. the 3 gallon pot.


please tell me you think the process was/went well, and Sprout will Love the new setup after a day or 2 of adjusting?

mix is wet, but not sopped, and not damp. but nicely moist.
now it just gonna kill me to be gone for 4 days and not be able to see him.

got a buddy that will come over and check on him for me.

going to be a loooong thread - your at a good start with the genetic pool the seed could draw from but the problem is that it will not be very likely that you end up with the true gem on this dice roll - but best of luckk to ya I am sure she will be a great plant but lets just hope she is really as great as her ancestors and that she draws from the best traits, the odds are not in your favor though my friend so don't be disappointed if you end up flowering this baby for 18 weeks and then still end up with low potency results that taste like crap, that is a worst case scenario, more than likely I would say you end up with some descent product after a 13 to 16 week flower time but it will not be the best and likely will only vaguely remind you of the bag you found it in.

Just want to remind you of the reality of this situation so you do not set your expectations very high. If this is all in good fun for some personal stash then more power to ya and I think you will ultimately be pleased but if growing is a serious business to you and/or you smoke over an ounce a day then be prepared for this plant to disappoint you.

Anyhow, I still find it interesting you have a 30 year old seed growing, astonishing to say the least, and I look forward to your results. Thank you for sharing. - And if you do win the lottery and get a true C. GOLD gem your trading me some cuts as I am a michigan medical grower also
