Need Help Determining Harvest Time!!

Hey Guys! I had thrown one seed from a bag out my bathroom window and the little girl decided to grow. Long story short, it's over 2.5 months down the road from the time I had planted her and she has come a long way. I live in o h i o so the weather is getting fairly cold and the first Frost is due to come October 10th. I just don't want my girl to die...

Could you guys look at my pics and help me determine a harvest time? Any suggestions on what I should do? I can't bring her inside and finish the grow indoors. The pistils are finally starting to turn an amber/brown color slowly from the tip and down on many of the buds.

Advice is appreciated!!

PS. How much would I suffer from pulling them and harvesting a little bit early? I just don't want her to die, it is my very first plant and I have cherished every second of it's growth through it's life... can't wait to smoke her!

Thanks!:joint:

Looks like 10-14 days to me. I it's going to freeze and it's not a serious freeze you can put a small tent over her for the night. ..drive some stakes in to the ground and put a light blanket or something (but just at night until frost is gone. ...it doesn't take much to protect from a light freeze.
I'm in a mountainous area of Oregon and I'm on a daily watch now with my last plant...Built a little protective cover mostly for the rain...If you do that make sure there is decent air circulation

Alright sounds good, tonight it's supposed to be 53 which is the low - not to bad, but within the next few days it is going to drastically drop. I'll definitely look into building a small outside enclosure to protect her from the frost and low temps. Sounds about the same, I'm constantly watching "hourly" lmao.. for any negative changes to my girl.

Dont' harvest before it' s ready. You'll loose way too much potency. You can see how the trichomes have a "glittering" shine over them looking like small diamonds. This glittering appears when trichomes are still clear and empty. When they are ready for harvest they will turn milky white and you'll notice how the "glittering" stops and bud trichomes will seem milky to the naked eye. Just hold bud under the lights and you will easily see the glittering. Just keep watching with a couple of days in between and you'll easily notice that glittering stop.
You can do this on any plant. Haven't used my microscope for this for years. Hope it helps you to decide harvest time.

I agree with Brimi. Most plants will take a frost just fine. Take a look at Superstoners grow, his plants have gone through quite a few. So have mine. If it gets below 28 degress then worry. Mulching the ground will help protect her roots and keep the soil a little warmer. Hold off on cutting as long as you can. If ya want, just test her. Just a little!
