Algae isn't too much of a problem as long as you use the cover for the res.

Oxygen I used to use an air pump for an aquarium along with a 3" ring airstone.

But to be honest if you use a rockwool cube to start and then go into hydroton oxygen isn't really a problem in the pots.

I needed oxygen in my res due to roots hanging down into the water.

The only time I had an issue with slime or algae was when I used H2o2 along with CANNA BOOST ACCELERATOR that was not a pretty sight. Lol.

slime.... that does not sound good ha

Well iv got the cover but its only shitty corrugated plastic. when i bought it i was expecting so tuff plastic but i suppose if it does the job then its ok.

hydro sounds so good at first until you realize it takes a hell of alot of maintenance but if the yield pays off i suppose it will be worth it

Currently I use coco without the wilma. Hand watering. It takes one hour every 2 days.

When I ran my hydro wilma, I spent 5mins a day checking EC and pH fluctuations. Once it was setup and I was familiar with it and how it ran I spent 1 hour once a week dumping the res and refilling. That's a grand total of 1h35m.

Now I'm up to 3.5hours per week spent in my grow room.

So once you learn how to read the EC changes and what to do to compensate hydro is a piece of piss time wise.

well thats good news!

the main problem i have with EC is the different standards... there should be only 1 and that would make things alot easier

Just use one.

EC is the universal standard and that's what I use too.

BLUELAB EC truncheon is a great tool. £65 though but comes with 5yr warranty.
