Hey there, Im two weeks into my first grow and its going well so far. However that’s my opinion and I don’t have anything to compare my plant to so I actually don’t know. Im growing an northern light x big bud feminized autoflower in my closet. Its been two weeks and I have it under a 30 watt cfl (going to get a second cfl soon to get to 50 or 60 watts). The plant is pushing out the 9th and 10th leaf. Is that good for 2 weeks into the grow. It says that the plant should be ready to harvest 55 days from sprouting is that gonna be possible if the plant is at its 9th and 10th leaf 2 weeks in? and I was wondering if I water my plants with sparkling water every once in a while will that raise the co2 content and be good for the plant? Thanks

Im right there with you on doin the whole first grow thing - so take my opinion with as much weight as yours may carry...

One thing ive tend to notice - is that every grow tends to be different in some way, some how...because it is hard to replicate exact same situations every year that you grow, so sometimes you end up with differences. In response to a question like this, If I wanted to be a smartass about your question about "whether it will be ready to harvest in 55 days" would be me answering YOUR question with another question similiar to what YOUR asking like "How long is a piece of string if I cut it tomorrow?" or "How many apples grow in a tree 15 feet tall"? There are so many variables to your question that YOU would really only be the person to know that out of the populace on these forums...trust me there are many questions i want to ask here to but I know nobody can figure it out except me because I got my very individualized plants, and only I have them, not anyone else on these forums..so its hard for them to answer i guess...

My main principle that I follow in many [not all] aspects of life is - "too little or too much of one thing is not a good thing" - My point being find a happy-medium in all that you give to the plant, including your attention...not saying you are, but the people who fuck with thier plants too much HAVE A GREATER TENDANCY to arouse complicated problems - especially with growth nutrients and such - but like I said, its ok to use them, and obviously better most times for your yield of bud - but find a happy medium...check that dirt constantly to make sure its not too wet, and not too dry...look at your leaves, stems, etc...dont kid yourself into thinking that you dont know whats going on with your plants because we are new...alls it takes is patience and understanding (of course you will have to do your research on the net like all others)

and best of all you are gaining experience..so whether or not this turns out to be a fortunate growth, nonetheless you will have gained experience and that is helpful for your next grow

Nice little babies! I'd say move the lights to hang horizantally to get max lumens and light absorption. But if those are CFL, you're gona want them within 1-4 inches of the plant so that chlorophyll can do it's job, CFL's have a low area of usable light so keep them real close. usually as long as you have a fan they won't burn at all. I've had some leaves TOUCHING my 68w cfls that don't show any damage.

Sparkling water is no longer sparkling by the time it gets to your plants' roots. In fact, you can shock a plant if the water is too much
hotter or colder than room temps.

"ready to harvest 55 days from sprouting". Not using a 30W light you won't. The light in my 'fridge is 30W, eh? Your first priority should be
to bump your wattage to at least 400W. I grew the NL x BB (fem.) auto twice and they fimished right at 60 days for me. But I'm vegging at
400W and flowering at almost 1100. The more wattage you employ the bigger, fatter your plants will be.

Until you can get more lights online you need to do the next best thing - jack your plants up close to the light source. Don't worry about burning
your gals if you do the hand test: place the back of your hand under your light and move it closer then farther from the light until you find the
spot where you can start to feel the heat as uncomfortable on the back of your hand. Your plants will feel the heat just about the same as the back of your hand.
So you can put the plants as close as possible to the light. Remember - light operates under the squares rule -- double the distance to the light and the growing
power is cut to 1/4.

Good luck, BigSteve.
