Need Help!! MH Hortilux Question

OK, so i wnt to get a new bulb today and the lady talks me into buying a MH Hortilux Blue bulb. She said it had a way better spectrum of light than a regular hps. SOO i bought it, plugged it in, and its all fucked up i think. It stays at like 50 percent strenght, then the ballast makes a whine like its working hard, and the light intesifies to 100% for like 5 seconds, and goes back to weak light?? whats up with that????? this shit was 115$ so it better work.

You said then a regular HPS so if you have a HPS Ballast that better be a MH Converstion bulb or you just wasted $115.

Unless they will let you return it/exchange it.

the ballast has a switch for hps or mh, ive been using hps setting. now she got me all confused. its a daylight metal halide grow lamp hortilux blue

yeah i went back out and its not really doing it anymore as much. its just a bluish light so i think im good. anyonw else flower with a bulb like the one in the link?

You are flowering with MH instead of HPS? If that lady told you that a blue spectrum MH was better for flowering she doesn't know what the hell she is talking about. Go get your money back unless you want to keep it and use it for veg, blue light is good for veg and orange and red are better for flowering. I am using MH for flowering because I can't afford to get another light right now but I am getting a 3000k red spectrum bulb to do it with.

thats what i thought. i was with my uncle and he was saying lwts tru it out. so as of right now, im going to flower the last 4 weeks of my mp5k with it. unless thats jus a really horrible idea, i can go exchange it tomorrow

i do , just did it. it got only like 2 hours of mh light. im about to go return it here in a liitle bit. she said she has a motorized wheel up top, and has 2 1000 watt bulbs, one hps and one mh blue so here plants gets like 200 watts. keep in mind, i cant tell her like hey im growing some killer at home so you better be right. she thinks i have a garden of vegetables and other stuff.
