I just purchased a new ballast to replace one that stoped working. It has a wierd plug (6" long) going out the back of the unit. I have never seen this type of configuration. If you have any knowledge on this, please tell me what is what, so I can cut the plug end off and wire it to my existing lamp plug. The spec sheet says that there is a ground (GND), a neutural (N), and the other specifies "L". I need to match this to my normal config. Here is what the wierd plug looks like. Please help! Peace

They make an adaptor for this. I wouldnt recommend cutting and splicing. Should carry the adapter in stock at local hydro shop, or cgeck ebay & amazon.

I probably did'nt explain myself fully. My old ballast lamp wire was hard wired to the ballast, but has a regular 3 prong plug in at the lamp. Now, I have the new ballast, as shown in picture, that I do not know what the 3 indivual holes are. I know one is the ground, there is a neutural, and the third one is "L" (whatever that is). So I need to get the green, white, and black wires connected to the new unit. So, I need someone to tell me what each hole is for from the picture. Thanks.

The 2 half circles are "input" and "output" for an AC (alternating current) curcuit, the "slot" is for your ground...european design...far left should be white..middle is black..and green is ground.. good luck...

The new ballast is a Virtual Sun 600w I just received from Max Tools. The old ballast was hard wired, so I already cut and striped the ends to get them ready for a new intersection. Have you ever seen that type of plg?

Wow RIKN...excellent info. If you are positive on what you said, I am going with that (White on left, black in the middle, green into slot on right). Please confirm this to me and I'll get to work! BTW, what would happen if I had the ground correct, but reversed the other two?
