Don't grow in egg cartons again. Use solo cups.

Transplant so there is only about 1/2 inch of stem below the first leaves.

I wouldn't recommend expandable peat pellets. They're more trouble than they're worth. They're delicate when
some of them don't have enough peat in them and fall apart, their pH is too low, the dry out very fast
if you don't have a humidity dome, and germing seeds don't like high humidity for too long, they like good aeration.

Go with seedling soil, or if your normal soil is nice and light and doesn't contain fertilizers then that will work perfectly. Don't let the soil get cold.

You want to use a pot size big enough for the seedling to develop a strong root ball that isn't too delicate for transplant.

Oh and there have been a few cases of roots not being able to penitrate the fabric surrounding the peat
so there's another step you have to take.
