Need help with Avator

I have noticed when i put in a thread it displays my picture, but under it it says stranger. can someone help me change this if i can, seen different ones all over the site so think it can be done. ANY info would be grateful cheers.

I think you have to post more to build your rep or something and it will change itself kind of like an rpg game or some shit
I dont think you can change it but if you can and i just didn't know Im a dumbass
