Need Help With Getting A Card

I have not had medical insurance for over a year and to get my 215 card I have to show notes stating my illness (migraines, asthma, insomnia) within the last year. I still have some medication with my name on it but the Dr's I have spoke with said they can not take this. Is there a way around showing current medical records that anyone knows of or do I need to sack it up and pay some Dr. to give me a new exam?

In all honesty all you really need for a card is a few hundred dollars to get the doc to sign his recommendation, theres plenty of clinics around the state... Sad to say but its all about the Mighty dollar.

$30 in my hood...and furthermore OP, I think you can get your medical records from your previous doctors.

As it should be. With the way healthcare is going you cant blame doctors for banking on selling something that is great anyway. The doctors that push medical marijuana licenses are better than the ones that push Major pharmaceutical companies drugs, you know, the ones where the side effects are worse than the condition they are prescribed for.

agreed...

really you need medical recommendation from your previous doctor... if you barely need your card.

I'm from sd and got my card no prob without any medical records, as a matter of fact I haven't been to the doc in like 10 years or so, it only cost me 30 bucks to get it. If I were u I would check around other city's and find one that doesnt req med records and take a road trip.

I used Medicann in that area. Just got mine renewed and forgot to bring any documentation. Showed him a pill bottle that expired three years ago so he told me to fax something to him at my leisure and to bring something more current next time - basically just bring something next time, I'm sure he could care less if I ever fax him anything.

If you pay you get it (kinda sad). Medicann is huge and everywhere - they have a decent computer database that many dispensaries can log into which makes it nice. On the other hand it is the McDonalds of scripts which makes it a bit sketch. If you can't find anywhere else it's an option.

this is where i went.

HCeval Center
1127 Webster St #12 Oakland, Ca ( not in 12 anymore )
phone - 1-888-weed-rec
89$ cash only. its up stairs above a pizza place

if you call early they will tell you the exact times they are open. i think it was 12-6 everything is done as a walk in. get there 15 mins before they open, it fills up fast. i was first in line and it took me 20 mins i think. they also have a web site for 24/7 and phone number to get verified

Yeah I have heard Medicann is a little on the sketch side. I am really looking for a script so I can post it for this season, not really looking to go to any dispensaries.

Did you need any Dr. recommendations/ current medical records showing needs. I do have some medication from a year+ ago I can bring.

Hey! I'm in the East Bay Area as well. I've been going to Medicann in Oakland for 3 years now. Remember, the person there is a licensed M.D., so all you really need to do is tell him how cannabis helps you and they will write you a script. They are super friendly and I've given this advice to over 10 people. All of them had a %100 success rate and none of them took more than ten minutes or so. After the exam you shell out $150 and you get a temp card that day to hit up whatever dispensary you want, then a real one in the mail in a few weeks. I have not visited a single dispensary in the Bay Area that won't take Medicann cards. It's legit and you'll laugh walking out of there because they make it so hassle free. Hope this helps.

A little late but wanted to give you all an update, I went to CA website and printed the CA medical document. Brought that directly to my primary care physician and after a little hustling he said no problem and signed it for me. I check CANorml and they say that's all you need to be protected under CA 215. Doing a small outdoor (allowed 6 plants, only doing 3). I don't really care about going to the clubs so it cost me my $25 co-pay instead of the $100+

You don't need to even involve your primary doctor. The places that give you the paperwork aren't very picky. I went to a local Dr that does the licenses and was told to bring in any prescription medicine. I did and they didn't even check it, he asked what I was taking and what issues I had. Told him insomnia. lower back pain and stress. All good in/out with my paperwork within minutes
